OBJECTIVE
My objective is to find a company or firm that can take advantage of my
experience and background to help that company or property management
business to be profitable and have a part in maintaining and developing its
vital role in the community. It is my goal to make this a long term if not
a permanent career move. I am seeking a management, consultant, design or
sales position.
QUALIFICATIONS
I have over 35 years' experience in the HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and
Refrigeration Construction trades as well as property management and retail
sales.
My expertise within these various fields include: Management of
personnel, sales, technical trouble shooting, installation, bidding,
design, working with budgets, negotiating contracts, working with General
Contractors, Engineers and Architects on a residential and commercial
level.
Personal background includes public speaking, teaching, counseling,
human resource management and public relations as well as computer skills.
I volunteer my services throughout the state as well as doing design,
installation technical consulting nationally. I consider myself a people
person and enjoy working with people.
Over the past 35 years it has been my privilege to manage four
contracting businesses as well as own and manage my own corporation. I just
recently completed the management and oversight of 5 trades on a 15 million
dollar 16 month long construction project that included over 600
volunteers, some professionals, but mostly unskilled.
WORK HISTORY
Currently serve as the Vice President and Senior Estimator, of a heating,
cooling and plumbing company, as well as a project manager.
. Facility Manager
Of a large resort in Myrtle Beach. Responsible for the operation of
all physical plant and landscaping. It covered 160 acres with 77
villas, 1500 sites, offices, store, recreation facilities, and water
park. Oversaw a work force of 22 individuals, maintained the
electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, construction, renovation, water,
irrigation, sewer systems, sanitation, and water park. Was
instrumental in the design and construction of a one million dollar
renovation of the pool and miniature golf area. In the absence of the
general manager, managed the operation of the resort.
. Project Manager, Field Supervisor and Design Sales Engineer for
Central Carolina Air Conditioning.
Responsibilities included the developing and oversight of a new
commercial construction division which included developing the client
base, monitoring the accounts, design and value engineering new and
existing buildings, which included facility management and control
systems, write out the proposals and close the deal with clients,
supervised the installation process from purchasing equipment and
material to insuring that they came in on time and on budget,
estimated and proposed commercial service contracts and consulted with
the service department to help them solve technical problems on
existing equipment, worked in the marketing department.
President and Owner of Paradise Comfort and Control Systems, Inc.
My company allowed me to develop and hone skills in business as well as
personnel management. Our company specialized in small commercial
applications, which consisted of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, air
filtration, commercial refrigeration and controls. Most of our jobs ranged
in sizes from 5 to 100 tons. We worked closely with property management
companies, apartment and condo properties, general contractors, retail
stores, shopping centers, malls and government agencies. Design and
installation of HVAC equipment in large custom homes as well as restaurant
service work were also a large part of our business.
. Service and Sales Representative for Hughes Supply Co.
This responsibility consisted of taking care of all their service and
public relation problems with dealers, customers and manufactures in four
states. I conducted service and sales classes and served as the service
and design consultant for their line of York HVAC equipment, H. B. Smith
Boilers, Haley Water Coolers, Manitowoc, Scottsman and Hoshizaki Ice
Macnines. I resigned this position to give more attention to my business.
. Commercial Comfort Inc.
Assisted in running the overall operation of the company, including project
and service management. Designing and selling of commercial and residential
HVAC systems.
