WORK EXPERIENCE
M innesota Epilepsy Group
A ugust 2012 - P resent
E ncephalogr am (EEG) T echnologist II S t. Paul, MN
I am responsible for hooking a patient up for an EEG and running a recording of their brain waves along
with informing the patient of what an EEG is and what to expect. I am responsible for the placement of the
wires, maintaining low impedances of the wires, keeping the recording of the brain waves free of artifact
from surrounding electronics, watching the patients and calling the doctor if a possible seizure occurs. I
also perform stimulation exercises on the patients each day they are in the hospital in order to determine if
the brain waves change normally.
I have been able to multitask by being able to care for multiple patients at the same time. I need to
assess what is most important and prioritize.
I have demonstrated my ability to make patients feel safe at a stressful time for them. They are in the
hospital for seizures and I have the ability to help calm them.
I have good communication with the doctors when a possible seizure occurs.
I have proven my ability to learn quickly on the job. I progressed from a EEG technologist I to an EEG
Technologist II in one month.
J anuary 1, 2012 – P resent E ast Bethel Fire Department
F irefighter E ast Bethel, MN
The East Bethel Fire Department responds to fire calls as well as medical calls throughout the city. Through
this training, I have taken several courses which include: firefighting classes, hazmat operational, first
responder, and leadership classes. In this job, one needs to be self-motivated, innovative, organize, quick at
making decisions, and have close attention to detail. Multi-tasking and being able to work well under stress
is also imperative in this job. It is also very important to be able to work well both as a team and
independently and show leadership among teammates. It is vital to be able to gather important information
and complete paperwork in an efficient manner.
O ctober 7, 2 010 – August 2012 P orous Media Corporation
L aboratory Assistant W hite Bear Lake, MN
This started out as a 2 week project. I was responsible for locating, organizing, and documenting all of the
chemicals in the laboratory to bring the laboratory up to OSHA standards. I also was to locate the MSDS
sheets for each of the chemicals. After the two weeks, they decided to keep me on as a laboratory assistant
in research and development. I started out working on research for the removal of varnish from wind
turbine oil. The patent on the research my coworkers and I did is: “Process and Apparatus to Remove
Oxidation Products from Used Oil, US 201******** A1”. After that research was completed, my primary
responsibility had been working with anodes and cathodes including coating the fibers, cleaning, testing
and shipping as well as many other aspects of the manufacturing process. The testing that I have done has
included: water, air, and hydrogen testing which tested for both leaks through the fibers as well as broken
fibers. I have also assisted in various other projects. During my time there, they have also implemented the
5S program. I participated in the 5S procedure in the main laboratory.
I have been able to demonstrate my ability to multitask by quickly switching from project to project.
Much of the time, the anodes and cathodes are in different stages of development. In order to get
things done in a timely manner, I am able to work on them all at the same time.
I have learned to become extremely time-sensitive through this position as many of the tasks are time
oriented and some take around 8 hours. In order to get the project done on time, everything needs to
be well organized as well as prepared as quickly as possible. This involves thinking about the entire
process beforehand and setting up the next step while something is either in the oven or in the middle
of a process.
Customers set up the specifications of the modules so paying attention to detail is a must as the
standards for the modules are typically high.
I am capable of working under stress and deadlines.
I have gained experience with the 5S program in a workspace.
J anuary 2 008 – December 2 0 08 A cademic Support C enter
A cademic Peer Tutor C oon Rapids, MN
I was responsible for tutoring math, chemistry and biology.
To be exceptionally efficient with my time, I gathered students that needed help with the same
class and tutored them as a group.
I am extremely dependable and dedicated. Along with never missing a day of tutoring, I was
always early and on many occasions spent time beyond my shift to help students that needed extra
help.
I achieved effective communication skills by working with many different types of diversity.
Diversity has never affected the way that I tutored.
Demonstrated ability to multi task by tutoring several students at once on different subjects.
