Training Design and Delivery
As Human Resource Manager, I observed that while it was rare that our
employees were out sick, each lost day was magnified since employees were
specifically trained on one machine or one task. When a key employee was
absent, production stopped or slowed drastically, impacting sales and
fulfillment. Recovery involved 12-14 hour days, or no days off. During
these times there were more labor disputes and safety reports.
o Suggested to upper management, and obtained approval for, cross-training
employees.
o Created a cross-training matrix to ensure employees were trained in every
department and keep track of training.
o Worked with each department to create a specific task list on how to do
operate and complete each job.
o Developed & produced cross-training materials.
o Within a 6 month period, all employees were cross-trained to understand
how a machine operated, how to work the machine, how to take the machine
apart, functionality, and how to clean the work stations up to USDA code.
o After training was completed, employees were required to work in a
different department to reinforce the training.
o The program was very successful, and resulted in enhanced employees'
skills, knowledge transfer, and improved relationships across
departments, increased productivity, and elimination of gaps. Management
rewarded entire company with a small raise across the board.
Diversity and Global Consultation
o My multicultural counseling psychology, growing up in South Florida, and
love of travel has led to opportunities to appreciate and work with:
. diverse populations and cultures, including Asian, Canadian, Cuban,
Dutch, European, German, Haitian, Jamaican, Japanese, and South
American;
. a broad array of socio-economic statuses, age groups, diverse
races, genders, and sexual preference
o I have taught Diversity and Sexual Harassment Workplace trainings to help
educate and create a more harmonious work environment.

automotive global corporation to learn the Japanese organizational
culture, Kaizen, and discussed quality issues.
