RESEARCH PROJECTS:
Masters Research- Department of Pharmacology: Jun 2012- May 2013
• Worked on anti- depressant activity of Cannabinoid drugs and studied the cannabinoid
receptor signaling pathway involving ß-arrestin2 and MAPK cascades in C57Bl/6 male
mice (in vivo).
• Drugs were given IP and subjected to behavioral tests.
• Brains were isolated and hippocampal regions were examined for changes in phospho
MAPK levels by SDS PAGE followed by Western blotting.
• Protein quantification was done by Bradford assay.
Undergraduate research- Department of Pharmacology: Jan 2011- May 2011
• Worked on anti- urolithic activity of aqueous extract of Achyranthes aspera on
ethylene glycol induced kidney stones in male albino rats.
• The activity of the drug was compared against the standard furosemide drug.
• Drugs were given orally for 21 days and then sacrificed.
• Blood serum analysis, difference in kidney weights and histological microscopic
examination of kidney was performed to assess mineral content and identify the calcium
oxalate crystals.
PRESENTATIONS:
• Presented a poster on “ßarrestin-2 modulation cannabinoid activity in mice Jun
2013
varies with assay, drug and gender” at IRCS 2013, Vancouver.
