EDUCATION
2009 Mastercam 3D
Certificate of completion - Precision Manufacturing Institute,
Meadville, PA
This course was a more in depth view of mastercam software. We drew 3
dimensional drawings and applied surfaces to them, we created solids.
We set roughing and finishin toolpaths to these. We determined how to
acquire specific surface finishes. And we were introduced to posting
our programs.
This was fun stuff!
2008 Mastercam 2D
Certificate of completion - Precision Manufacturing Institute,
Meadville, PA
This course was an introduction to Mastercam 10 X2 software. We went
over drawing techniques and setting tool paths to 2 dimensional
drawings.
1994 Tool and Die
High school diploma - Crawford County Area Vocational Technical School,
Meadville, PA
While attending high school in Saegertown, I also attended the local
vo-tech in order to obtain a background in tooling and machining. My
plans were to attend engineering school. I felt this would broaden my
background in my future field. I was accepted to Penn State Behrend. I
took my placement exams and had a schedule. I decided not to attend
when I was offered an apprenticeship by my employer.
1991 All technical aspects of tooling, machining, fixturing and mold&
die design
Journeyperson Tool and Die Maker - Crawford County Area Vocational
Technical School, Meadville, PA
After graduation of high school, I went to work at Leech Tool & Die.
Several weeks before I was to leave for college, they offered me an
apprenticeship. I accepted and completed 8000 hours of on the job
training. Starting in the saw room and moving throughout the shop,
learning to operate all machinery. These included lathes, manual and
CNC mills, manual and CNC EDMs, manual, automated, and CNC surface
grinders, OD and ID grinders, manual and CNC jig grinders, stamping
presses, and various other equipment. During this training, I was also
given opportunities to troubleshoot and repair molds and dies along
with assisting in the design of these as well as production fixturing.
Along with the on the job training, I completed 8 classes
required by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry for the
apprenticeship program. They included math classes, drafting and design
classes and metallurgy.
1991 Academic
High School Diploma - Saegertown High School, Saegertown, PA
I attended Saegertown High School and fulfilled all necessary
requirements for the academic program.
