receiving and payment of unemployment benefits. This system consisted of both
BATCH and CICS programs. The system performs operation from checking to see if
benefits were to be paid, how much to be paid based to previous amounts earned to
producing payment of claims. The system also produced federal required reporting of
unemployment activity.

Sony Dothan site is responsible for the manufacturing and assemble of all magnetic tape
products that are distributed and sold globally. I was responsible for writing and
maintaining CICS and Batch mainframe programs to support an in-house inventory
tracking, sales and financial system for this manufacturing site. I was also responsible for
the Y2K enhancement project to male all changes both on-line and batch programs
making them Y2K compliant. File-Aid Data Ager was used to age the file dates on data
used for Y2K testing. Used VIASOFT’s VIA/ValidDate to change system date on the
mainframe for Y2K testing both on –line and batch. I was responsible for the design and
development of the ATC (Authorized to Credit) system which automated a manual
system of receiving returned goods back into inventory and allowed the user to adjust
financial and inventory amounts automatically.
UNISYS Computer Corp. 5/1995 – 4/1997
Tallahassee, Florida
Project Lead
Unisys Computer Corp. is a worldwide developer of software, support and maintenance
of existing system. I was responsible for a task group that converted a mainframe batch
Medicare claim form (HCFA1500) process into a real-time CICS/UNIX based POS
(Point of Service) system. The base system resided on the UNISYS 6000 mini computer
with a UNIX operating system. Conversion and testing of the system was done using
MICROFOCUS/COBOL on a UNIX platform. The mainframe was used as a file server
of the data files. Communication between the Mini computer and mainframe was done
through the use of TCP/IP. An EDI-X12 record format was used to receive and sent the
responses claim back to 3rd party vendors who furnished input data to be processed.
Besides managing and coordinating the project I also wrote the mainframe TCP/IP
communication module that resided on the mainframe. I also developed a test EDI=X12
prototype to simulate a 3rd party vender for receiving and sending claims responses for
system testing. By taking the process off of the mainframe processing costs were cut
drastically.
UNISYS Computer Corp 1/1994 – 4/1995
Tallahassee, Florida
Programmer/Analyst
I shared responsibilities with a start-up task group that converted a mainframe batch
pharmacy claim system into a real-time CICS POS (Point of Service) pharmacy system.
Claims were sent into the system by a 3 rd party software vender switch. After the claim
was processed a reply was sent back to the vendor with the results or status of the claim
which in turn sent it to the sending pharmacy.
Computer Horizon Corp. (Contract Company) 5/1991 – 12/1993
Tampa, Florida
Contract Sr. Programmer/Analyst
GTE Data Services (now known as Verzion)
Tampa, Florida
GTE Data Services is a company that provides data processing and technical support to
all General Telephone and affiliated companies. My responsibilities were working on the
Amland Labor Cost Price-out enhancements. This was part of the Advantage Financial
Information System. This area gives the user the ability to upload or download from a
PC or Mainframe information that will produce a series of mainframe reports showing
projected labor costs for a period of time. I wrote and maintained several programs
accessing the Teradata database using SQL commands and macros. I participated in
inspections of specifications and the review of coding standards. Other project I worked
on was to produce barcode print making the shipment of materials to and from GTE
warehouses more efficient. A project that interfaced that converted data on file from one
format to another making an acquired company information accessible to GTE
companies.
