Experience
Risk, Reduction, Resources, Inc., Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Geophysical Data Collector, Various
Locations, 2013
• Paired Leica GPS and EM61 electromagnets to scan the subsurface for UXO anomalies
• Characterized subsurface anomalies using Geosoft’s Oasis Montaj software
• Gained significant field experience and geophysical problem solving experience
HWS Summer Research, Intern, Geneva, NY, Summer 2012
• Conducted ongoing research of 8 of Upstate New York’s 11 Fingerlakes for eight weeks
• Gathered weekly water samples from Owasco Lake’s Dutch Hollow Brook and using the Wm.
Scandling Research Vessel, sampled Seneca Lake. Monthly collections of the other 7 Finger Lakes and
Owasco Lake’s tributaries
• Performed daily lab chemical analysis on water samples using established limnological techniques and
entered data into an ongoing database
• Used previous and recently analyzed Owasco Stream data to publish an abstract hypothesizing the
causes of nutrient fluxes within Dutch Hollow Brook
Hawaii Field Studies, Student, The Big Island, HI, Summer 2012
• Collected climate profiles and mapped volcanic flows on the Mauna Ulu Volcano for two weeks
• Launched weather balloons and recorded data using Kestrel handheld weather meters
• Mapped Mauna Ulu volcanic flows using handheld GPS devices
Colorado Field Studies, Student, Various Locations, CO, Summer 2011
• Participated in two week field experience traveling around Colorado observing and correlating igneous
and sedimentary formations in Roxborough State Park, Morrison State Park, and the San Juan Volcanic
Field
• Point and compass mapping in the San Juan Volcanic Field and Morrison St. Park in Colorado Springs
GIS Internship with the City of Geneva, Geneva, NY, Fall 2010
• Organized and updated the City of Geneva’s geodatabase
• Used Trimble GPS units to collect point data of town infrastructure (water mains, fire
hydrants, street signs, etc.)
• Digitized and updated the City’s old zoning map to act a layer within the Geneva’s
geodatabase
