Supervise a 2nd shift Manufacturing Cell of 17-20 employees in the Silencer Department. Overall performance includes Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Continuous Improvement (5s and 6 sigma), and Training. Silencers are used in HVAC for in-duct noise attenuation and made in various shapes and forms. Metal of different gauges is sheared, broken, formed and spot welded by various equipment (Presses, Lock formers, Breaks, CNC,s and spot welders) to customer needs (custom built).

Production Supervisor

Supervise and direct up to one hundred five (105) employees in manufacturing Personal Care Products, Medicated Products, Household Products, and Automotive Care Products. Coordinate change over of all lines ensuring components, batch, propellant, cleaning/sanitation and maintenance are completed in a timely manner and that final product matches work order specifications. Enforce all safety and environmental rules and regulations and correct infringements of any violations.

• Submitted various proposals to eliminate change over downtime in order to maintain 46 % or better line reliability. Reliability desired was forty-six (46) percent and due to team efforts has reached the fifty (51) percent goal.

Production Supervisor

Lead, oversee and direct 22 to 45 employees in the Corn production department. Responsible for mixing raw ingredients, assuring weight, pH, humidity, expiration, and packaging meet Quality Control standards from start up to warehouse. Third shift is responsible for all changeovers and the CORN department alone consists of ninety six (96) SKU’s. Assess the needs of each employee and provide training to ensure that all processing activities are in conformance with product specifications. Responsible for safety training, enforcement of safety rules/policies, quality training, hazmat conformance and resolving employee conflicts.

TECHNOLOGY PERFORMANCE GROUP, INC - 2003 to 2005 (Contracts ended)

Reliability Consultant

Since June (2003), assigned to the Engineering department of Eli Lilly as a Reliability Consultant. Responsible for focusing maintenance attention on those assets that have the greatest impact on productivity and safety to Eli Lilly’s success. This is accomplished by documenting a comprehensive maintenance database with a fully detailed record of the maintenance requirements of all significant assets used by Eli Lilly.

• Re-designed various equipment from P&ID’s (Piping and Instrument Drawings) before installation to prevent excessive downtime.

• Examples were flow switches added to chemical pumps (diaphragm) and a Carbon Analyzer for Distilled water heat exchanger (shell pressure was greater than tube pressure).

Lead, oversee and direct production/mix/maintenance employee activities. Responsible for safety, productivity, quality, job skill training, and projects as required with focus on daily/weekly performance. Lead or individually contribute on various cross-functional teams. Ensure significant employee performance improvement by utilizing effective on site training covered by instructing, training, orienting, motivating, and assisting employees so that quality, safety, and productivity objectives are achieved. Maintenance consists of reactive maintenance (breakdowns), preventive maintenance and some predictive maintenance.

• Trained in TPM (Total Predictive Maintenance) program using vibration analysis, lubrication analysis, infrared imaging, and ultrasonic testing and assisted in program implementation.

• Re-design of CIP (Clean in Place) piping saved fifteen (15 minutes) of cleaning that totaled approximately a savings of $134,000 yearly.

TROPICANA PRODUCTS, INC – 1987 to 2000 (Followed wrong advice and left)

Oct. 1997- June 2000 Production Supervisor, responsible for the complete operations of a new product called, “SMOOTHIES”. Responsible for supervising the operations of blending raw materials, bottling, packaging, and palletizing finished product. Smoothie did not get the anticipated results and was discontinued. In Nov. 1998, took a lateral move to the feedmill where my experience in maintenance helped keep production down time to a minimum. Responsible for supervising employees and operations in the Feedmill Department. Produce, store and ship bulk citrus feed, citrus pellets, d’limonene, molasses, press liquor and other associated products. Manage the collection and evaporation of plant wastewater. During the summer months (July-November 1999), was assigned to Maintenance to assist Department Manager during summer rebuild/PM cycle and to assist in Capital Project Management. Rebuild/PM cycle addressed over 600 pumps, motors, and related assets. Additional duties included supervision of plant maintenance during maintenance manager absence. Assigned Capital Projects.

• Capital projects were done in the allotted time, within proposed budget and these projects were in excess of three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000).

Nov. 1987-Oct. 1997 Instrumentation Technician "A". Responsible for installing and maintaining production equipment in satisfactory working condition, including tests, measurements, calibrations, adjustments, and repairs. A partial list of equipment I maintained include, Ammonia Compressors, Chillers, Pasteurizers, Palletizers, Conveyors, Videojet Coders, Flow Meters, Loop Controllers, etc. Led project teams and I was a member of the safety committee that helped ensure Tropicana met OSHA requirements. Assisted Department Supervisor develop maintenance strategies for process control instrumentation. Participated in ISO 9001 certification and GMP practices implementation programs.
