JOB DESCRIPTION:
My everyday routine involves utilization of a linear accelerator treatment
machine which delivers high doses of radiation to patients for the
elimination of cancer and other malignant or benign tumors. The clinic is
extremely busy. I quite often treat close to 40 patients a day. I also
utilize CT for radiation therapy treatment planning as well. SRS procedures
are often performed at this clinic. We have treated almost 3 patients each
month since I have been working; all of which I have treated with the
doctor and physicist's assistance.
ADDITIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE
Clinical experience in Radiation Therapy School in Cape Coral, Florida
which included work at three different clinical sites-Port Charlotte(PCO)
in Port Charlotte, Florida, Cape Coral(CCO) in Cape Coral, Florida and
Lakes Park(LPO) in Fort Myers, Florida. Each site had different machines,
all of which I gained a great deal of experience from using. After
graduating from the program in December 2012, I moved to Redding,
California to work at two clinics with 21st Century Oncology, Inc. These
clinics are Solace Cancer Care(SR1) and Redding Cancer Treatment
Center(RDC). On a day-to-day basis, I work on the Varian Trilogy and the GE
Lightspeed CT machine for treatment planning at Solace.
