Work Experience
Personal Profile
Previously, I was working as a Pashto language instructor with Diplomatic Language Services and
International Communication Associates under Defense Language Institute contract in different military
posts within the United States, and also worked as Pashto Language Instructor in Camp Lejeune, North
Carolina teaching the US Marines. In Afghanistan, I had worked with different International
Organizations such as Irish, German and the United Nations Organizations as communication officer and
interpreter. I helped them with the National Solidarity Programs for the Afghans in rural areas of
Afghanistan and the very first historic Afghan Presidential and Parliamentary Elections funded by
international community and implemented by United Nations Office for Project Services [UNOPS]. I
have also worked with the United States Armed Forces as a linguist, March 2006- December 2010. When
working with the US Army, I travelled to every region of Afghanistan and experienced the thoughts of
different people and attended tribes’ meetings [Shuras). I was rated as one of the best linguists by the US
army personnel because of my bilingual skills and my professional behaviors with Afghan government
officials and public leaders. I was the only linguist who interpreted M-16 classes for the Afghan National
Army in Camp Shaheen Mazar-e- Sharif for the very first time in both Pashto and Dari languages. I have
worked with different security elements in Afghanistan such as ANA, ANP and ABP both in training and
operational fields. I am currently not a US citizen and came to the United States under special immigrant
visa and I am a permanent resident of the United States now, late 2010. I have spent 26 years of my age in
Afghanistan where Pashto and Dari are both official languages. I graduated from a high school in
Afghanistan with the highest grade where the official language was both Pashto and Dari. During my
school years, I also learned how to read, speak and understand Uzbek language which is mostly spoken in
the northern Afghanistan. I am extremely knowledgeable of cultural values, traditions, accents and local
dialects, and public and government dealings in Afghanistan. I have excellent Pashto and Dari languages
teaching evaluations from the Army students as well as my supervisors. I have a background of teaching
Pashto and Dari for the Army for almost two years in the United States with Diplomatic Language
Services and International Communication Associates under DLI contract. I was teaching Army students
in different language levels as well as enhancement students in both languages. I am also proficient in
computer applications, programs, internet and excellent typing skill in Pashto, Dari and English. I was
tested and passed ILR level for Pashto, Dari and English languages in 2013. I enjoy working with
challenging people and diverse cultural backgrounds. I am ready to travel or relocated for job
assignments. I am a very hard working and professional individual and also interested to be a top quality
employee for any organization within the US government.
