EXPERIENCE:
Warehouse Associate, AMAZON.com ; Goodyear, AZ OCT 1, 2010-NOV 23, 2012:
-using RF Scanners for multiple job functions: checking in and unloading parcel to
supply other associates with work, inventory receiving, stocking in bins or shelves,
relocating long-sitting product from bins known as “deadwood” to a designated aisle
space for old product to sell at a discount and to make space for new space for more
recent product that comes into the building, meticulously examining product to
identify any damages. Making virtual/physical space throughout various warehouse
shelves by collecting inventory of identical UPC barcodes and consolidating them to 1
shelf to allow space in other shelves for new inventory to be stocked away faster,
-trailer dock release
-fast-paced picking, packing, shipping, package labeling, custom box building for odd-
shaped packages, replenishing cardboard racks for product packers’ consistency while
in production hours, truck loading by hand, tight and efficient pallet wrapping to
insure all product on pallets are secure from the moment they are received into
warehouse, to the rack they are stored in
- “Problem Solver” computer-using position for figuring out and fixing virtual
associate/vendor caused problems with inventory such as: over or under-receiving
pallets on dock, lost pallet stickers, printing correct UPC barcodes if necessary(Too
often vendors would send us the wrong items and it’s up to Problem Solvers with
sharp cautious eyes to catch that they sent in the wrong product with incorrect
barcodes, so customers get what they ordered), replacing missing barcodes,
identifying missing inventory or overages from vendors, Damage Claims Process,
attaching correct P #’s if necessary, shipment IDs, Virtually re-assigning and
.O.
correcting weight and dimensional proportions for products allowing the Outbound
department to properly package the item in its correct box, Reuniting individual
items that were supposed to be together in a SET that were scattered throughout
warehouse by failure of fellow associates in identifying the items as belonging to
sets(There will be vendors who send us a single product split into multiple boxes.
sometimes they contain for example: “1of3;2of3;3of3” labels to help us identify the
individual boxes that need to be placed and received together, but this doesn’t get noticed
when in the wrong hands. instead what does happen often is there will be the same
barcode on all 3 individual boxes and will be received by incautious eyes as a whole withe
each individual box in the set and would be scattered in the warehouse and needs to be
reunited physically and virtually; another problem this causes is by receiving the
individual pieces of the sets as 1 official set will actually show up in the system that 2 more
of these “sets” have been received, leaving us 2 extra sets that cant be received into the
building because they will falsely appear to be overages. This is why Problem Solvers at
Amazon are highly depended on to catch many tricky problems. ), etc.
