Need For the Study:

Any developmental activities should need baseline information to build on it.

Thus baseline of the this village information will give us the present status on where

do they stand on and also this can be keep updated as the status improves/increases.

So it is very vital to create and manage the Village Information system for each

village."

Aim:

The aim of project is to Develop village information system

Maintain a detail socio-economic data base of the region.

Maintain a database on detailed information of the region.

Main PROJECT Description:

Topic:

Urbanization: Growth and Development in Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu.

Need For the Study:

Kancheepuram is one of the fastest population growing districts in Tamilnadu. There was

population change of 19.15% in 1991 in the year 2001 it rapidly increasing in 38.69 % . In

this circumstance it become imperative to assess the role of urbanization and its growth in

order to have a better understanding and proper planning for the fast growing district.

Aim:

This study emphasis on the growth and development of urbanization in

Kancheepuram district.

Objective:

The main objective of this project is to consider the degree of urban growth of

kancheepuram district.

To predict the population growth of the urban area growth for the year 2021

with the available reference of census data.

Presentations, Workshop and Conferences:

Participated in model display on topic “ Tourism & Biodiversity” Conducted

during world tourism day (27th September 2010) and got second prize.

Participated in “Creative Art” conducted during world tourism day (27th September

2010) and got third prize.

Participated on a national level presentations on “ Environmental Monitoring

Issues & Challenges” the topics was “Past vs. Present (Poster presentation) and

Sabirimala issues (Paper presentation)” on 9th February 2011.

Participated in Model display on the topic “Pollution and Environmental Impact”

on the Youth Health Mela at Valluvarkottam and was awarded THE BEST MODEL

OF THE DAY.
