I am responsible for the proper operation of the two Multiplace chambers, complete the new
patient orientation package, prepped the patient seating areas prior to exposure, sets up patient
breathing systems (hoods, masks, etc.), assesses and records patient’s vital signs prior to and post
treatment, places patient on individual hoods for oxygen/air breaks. I also helped screen, and
evaluated soldiers returning from combat with Traumatic Brain Injuries. Maintaining a double
blind for this study by due diligence in proper record keeping and web based data entry. I am
also tasked with trouble shooting and repairing the chambers when issues arise. I am proficient
with decompression tables.

I was responsible for all staff training on two mono place hyperbaric chambers, fire drills and
emergency procedures. I also obtained authorization for hyperbaric oxygen therapy from
patient’s insurance. I reviewed patients’ charts to see if any of them are a possible hyperbaric
candidate. I was also responsible for the care and treatment of the hyperbaric patients on a daily
basis, daily logs, patient charting and chamber maintenance must be updated daily, accurately
and routinely. Accuracy in the operation of the chambers is also in my scope of practice. I am
most proud of starting and maintaining a student Respiratory Therapist (RT) clinical rotation
allowing RT’s to get hands on experience with Hyperbaric chambers. I assisted in the opening of
this clinic.
