Serves as the principal development and fundraising officer responsible for providing strategic planning to and

management of Signal Centers’ fundraising efforts, including major gift solicitations, endowment building, planned
giving, board interaction, grant proposals, special events and all related activities. Collaborates with the CEO, the
Executive Leadership team and the Board to build Signal Centers’ image, resources, and stature in the community
and build sustained relationships with donors and funders.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising: Established a strategic fundraising plan with measurable goals and oversaw implementation of that
plan; oversaw the continued development and maintenance of an accurate and complete donor database; oversaw the
grant research and writing process to ensure that current grant writing activities were meeting the needs of the
agency.
Development: Cultivated donor relationships encouraging existing donors to renew or increase their support and
developing strategies for the cultivation of new donors; built build collaborative relationships with outside funding
agencies, foundations and special interest groups; developed and maintained active and productive relationships with
board members; Provided leadership and staff service to the Marketing & Development committee of the board
aiding them in carrying out their fundraising responsibilities; focused on ways to build and grow the endowment and
on approaching donors about planned giving.
Marketing and Communications: Worked to raise local awareness of Signal Centers’ mission and work in the
community; oversaw the agency’s social media and web marketing efforts; cultivated community outreach and
support for agency programs and new initiatives, including work with the United Way; created/edited all marketing
materials for the agency, including newsletters, annual reports, brochures and direct mailings; cultivated
relationships with the media to promote agency activities and events and created/submitted media releases and
promotional ads; identified opportunities to present the organization and its program at trade shows or special
events.
Special Events: Planned and coordinated special events, including the inaugural Color Me Chattanooga 5K, and
cultivated special event attendees who are capable or major gift support.
Volunteer Management: Oversaw the development and implementation of a volunteer program that met the needs of
the agency and its programs; cultivated volunteers that had potential of being long term contributors the agency.
