Medical Staff Coordinator, performed background and credential verification
on physicians and document appropriately in their file. Created and
maintained physician personnel files in accordance with Bylaw and JCAHO
requirements. Developed a standard personnel file system that enabled easy
reference for physician credentialing and trusted to manage confidential
practitioner and facility information. Worked directly for the CEO and
Chief of Staff in a professional and confident manner ensuring all
information gathered and medical privileges were granted according to
requests, JCAHO, and practitioner qualifications to maintain hospital
compliance. Managed all meeting minutes for the surgery and medical
departments that were part of the board of directors meetings that required
attention to detail. The reporting and compliance is critical because
patients and shareholders rely on the management team to meet or exceed
JACHO and credential requirements.
Staffing Representative, Manpower
Recruit, interview, place and manage employees ensuring appropriate
application of human resources on various jobs throughout Okaloosa county.
Customers would express the need to utilize a temporary agency for short or
long-term HR objectives. It was my responsibility to listen to the needs of
the customer and make sure that their goals were understood prior to
initiating the hiring process. From the initial request, I would meet with
potential candidates to place the best-suited employees for positions
ranging from temporary to permanent. In some case, I would test and train
candidates to broaden their career and job placement potential. Potential
candidates would schedule appointments to meet and discuss career
counseling and possible training options and become part of the employee
pool for placement for an appropriate recruiting match. Pre employment
background checks and drug screens were conducted per the request of the
contract. As the primary employer, in a dual employer arrangement,
personnel records, disciplinary action, and necessary emplyment
documentation was completed and maintained at the Manpower office.
Internship Equal Employment Office/ Transition Assistance Office
Counsel and prepare military members of their separation (VA) benefits,
retirees of their entitlements, and prepared veteran's for future
employment by providing guidance on career development. Serve as a guest
speaker to prepare military members for the transition from a military to a
civilian position. From attire to accountability factors in the civilian
sector, guide service members to make a smooth transition and ensure all
details were being advised. Assist with resume writing, filing disability
benefits and completing all necessary separation documents. Serve as a
certified Mediator in sexual harassment and Title VII discrimination cases
to reduce the potential of litigation by conducting EEO investigation and
documentation. Work immediately for the director collecting information
regarding allegations and compiling data to submit for litigation. I
gained a breadth of knowledge in the importance of prompt information
collection and documentation in allegations. Assisted with completing files
when a determination was made regarding cases. This provided an interesting
perspective because it taught me how to listen to employee allegations and
take proactive action to avoid potential claims.
Air Traffic Controller, USAF
Served as an Air Traffic Controller at Tinker AFB and Hurlburt Field
control towers. Direct and separate ground and air traffic and vehicles in
the airport movement area in the most safe and expeditious manner. I have
worked traffic in both controlled an uncontrolled airspace. The range of
aircraft was almost every plane in the air force and navy inventory as well
as civilian aircraft on multiple runways. Coordinated with other
controllers in the facility as well as outside facilities to best manage
traffic. This trained me to address stressful situations or work in a fast
paced environment and maintain focus to successfully achieve results. I
also managed training records for all controllers assigned to the tower and
submitted aircraft counts to headquarters to establish the facility
staffing needs. I served as a trainer working with apprentice controllers
teaching them the safe separation of aircraft and airport safety.
