SYNOPSIS

I graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a Bachelor's degree in
Sociology. While attending Ramapo, I conducted ethnographic research on
adults in substance abuse programs finding that gender had very little to
do with developing a substance abuse disorder.
Presently, I'm part of a privacy group implemented to adhere to new
government regulations involving HIPPA violations and investigations for a
healthcare company. I am interested in a broad spectrum of businesses to
advance my career.
WORK EXPERIENCE
2010 - Present Medco/Express Scripts

Privacy Coordinator
. Ensured company complied with Government regulations
o I have helped set up policies that are in
accordance with Government health regulations and
advised employees throughout the company on what
the privacy policies are and what is required
. Investigated HIPPA related violations
o Once privacy and HIPPA breaches are identified,
they are reported to me and from there I reach out
to the responsible party to investigate how and
why the error occurred. I help with the reporting
process on determining whether or not every
incident requires the impacted patient to be
notified as well as working with the clients on
how breaches are reported to them
o We have many sensitive clients that require
immediate notification of privacy breaches and I
have been responsible for ensuring that all of
their breaches are reported and documented within
the required timeframe
o I am also in charge of tracking and filing all
returned items from incorrect recipients. When
someone receives a letter or fax from Medco at the
incorrect address, they are advised to wait for a
return mailer and send it back to Medco. The
mailers are returned to me where I document them
in our excel files and ensure that the incident
has been documented in our system and there is an
investigation ongoing already from when it was
initially reported
o In 2012 I received an award for my assistance with
different departments of the company on compliance
issues
. Filed Government documents for the company
o At the beginning of each year the company is
required to submit online forms to government
documenting all of the privacy breaches that
occurred in the previous year. This can be as high
as several thousand per year and they are required
to be submitted to the HHS website by a specific
date
o In addition to submitting the sensitive cases to
Government, I have also led the project each of
the last three years to coordinator up to ten
people on submitting and tracking all of the
breaches
. Helped implementation project of Medco and ESI
o Once Medco was bought out by Express Scripts in
April of 2012, I have helped with combining the
two companies and their policies
o I have participated in meetings that to help
decide on which system and policy is the best
going forward and how we can combine all of the
ideas going forward
