ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Served on a four member team that designed and built a wind turbine for residential

use. Responsible for designing and building the blades of the turbine as well as aiding

in the overall construction process of the turbine.

Performed thermodynamic analysis on the steam power plant at Cal Poly Pomona

and computed efficiencies of the various components of the system as well as

determined the overall efficiency of the system and possible improvements that could

be made to increase efficiency.

Collaborated with a team to design an air duct that was to be used for cooling DC -DC

converters on the FSAE hybrid race car at Cal Poly Pomona. Determine d the amount

of cooling needed and possible designs for a forced convection duct.

Worked with a team to perform a piping network analysis on a system to determine

the flow rates in, out, and throughout the system.

Created design review presentations that showed the client the status of particular

projects and what direction the project was heading in. Allowed for the client to give

feedback and show either satisfaction or dissatisfaction with prog ress.

Utilized NEI Nastran to perform stress analysis on var ious structures.

Used thermodynamic principles to create graphs of the performance characteristics

for gasoline and diesel engines located in the Internal Combustion Engines

Laboratory at Cal Poly Pomona using thermodynamic principles. These performance

characteristics included fuel conversion efficiency, power, mean effective pressure,

torque, and specific fuel and air consumption.

Designed and built a small three wheeled electric vehicle to compete in a five task

competition. Resulted in completing all tasks and winning two of them.
