Materials Management/SCM
Materials planning and scheduling for different items and interface with foreign/local vendors for
the timely purchase of production equipment/Materials.
Inventory Management activities including fixing inventory leaves, preparation of bill of materials,
indenting and raising purchase orders as and when inventory levels go down below the re-order
levels.
Maintain smooth inter-departmental supply chain of items to ensure obstacle-free production
process.
Annual physical stock taking with ZERO reconciliation and periodic audit check interfacing with
Auditors for cost accounting the inventory.
Commercial Operation
Interact with the vendors and transporters for timely delivery of the purchased goods items at the
manufacturing unit from the vendor location.
Interact with Insurance Agencies for obtaining claims on goods damaged in transits.
Interface with statutory and govt. bodies for securing speedy clearance and approvals for the
various projects.
Procurement and Contract Management
Identify and negotiate with local/overseas vendors for procurement of production
material/equipment. Develop local supply sources for import substitution of spares and
components.
Conduct regular supplier quality audits to review the quality of services for suitable renewal of
contracts.
Invoice in the preparation of tenders and other technical documents.
Ensure timely procurement and delivery of material and regular scrap disposal to reduce costs and
wastage.
New Initiatives
Undertake quality improvements projects in the organization to ensure quality standards of raw
material/Imported goods meets the specification laid down by the company.
MAJOR ACHEIVEMENTS:
Initiate measures for curtailing & reducing costs and achieving inventory control within allocated budgets.
Techni Bharati Limited
Was involved in a road construction project (worth Rs. 24 crores) in Bangalore(India)
Handled purchase for their hydro-electrical project (worth Rs. 14 crores) in Sikkim and also
handled public relations activities (including maintaining effective relations with govt. agencies
and statutory bodies) for securing approvals.
Achieved efficiency in the process by replacing materials with high quality and low cost items. This
also resulted in cost reductions and better inventory management.
Identified and developed alternate vendors for purchase of various items required in the process,
thereby introducing competition among vendors for providing better services. As a result achieved
significant reduction in cost of purchase.
New systems were implemented where in the existing old system of manual entries were replace.
This resulted in improvement in functional efficiency and cost control.
Recorded improvement in terms of process efficiency and achieved cost reductions in the
procurement of materials and inventory control.
