Daryl Christiansen has served for the past 14 years as the CFO and business strategist for Parrone Engineering, one
of the region’s leading engineering and surveying firms. With full oversight for Finance, HR, and IT operations, Mr.
Christiansen has played a leadership role in increasing the company’s value and profile, optimizing profitability,
creating high performance teams, and developing a quality succession plan for a sustainable future. He is adept at
employing and training his staff in next-generating technology, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and making
operational decisions to enable the company to thrive. His foresight and quick-thinking response to signs of an
eminent recession in 2009 was credited as the singular factor in saving the company from certain closure. In addition
to overseeing the Finance Department and coordinating its operations, Mr. Christiansen serves as Quality Control
Manager to ensure that plans provide clarity, constructability, and adhere to the firm’s QA manual and procedures.
His extensive technical and managerial backgrounds allow him to provide project recommendations to improve
customer service, reduce costs, and meet project schedules. Mr. Christiansen is the President of The Fairport Rotary
Club and is the Past Treasurer of the Upstate New York Professional Services Management Association.

Chief Financial Officer [2000 – Present] Finance Manager [1998 – 2000]
Provide the P&L leadership to successfully manage the vision, strategic financial direction, and day-to-day
operation comprising this $1.2M practice, comprised of two partners and a staff of 6 Professional Engineers, civil
engineering technicians, and administrative support staff. Major clients have included County of Monroe, Monroe
County Community College, and Nazareth College. Perform all economic forecasting, banking, insurance, and
regulatory compliance updates. Manage the vendor relationship for all outsourcing initiatives.
Selected Achievements:
Developed the company’s entire financial strategy, resulting in a 5-8% profitability margin from 2000 – 2008
Created a highly successful operational infrastructure for Finance, HR, IT, Marketing, Governance, and Legal
Developed all accounting, financial reporting, and tracking systems

status. Authored the 2013 Planning Guide for Parrone Engineering, which positions the company and staff for

PROVIDED THE LEADERSHIP FOR ENHANCED PROFITABILITY & CASH FLOW POST GLOBAL 2009 RECESSION:
Following an in-depth analysis of the 2009 Profit Income Statement, presented a variety of measures to the partners
to restore company value and replace a trend of declining revenues and profits with a 10% YOY net profit goal
annually. Since 2010, have achieved this goal via proactive business development, identification/grooming of a new
rainmaker, improved client relationships, the redevelopment of the marketing strategy, a leadership development
program, an increase in billable rates, a more timely invoice processing system, a one-time 10% wage cut (later
repaid), various personnel productivity/utilization enhancements, and the generation of contract agreements
incentivizing cash flow through more rigorous billing and payment terms, monthly finance charges, collections,
retainer percentages from predetermined clients, and follow-up.
OVERSAW THE NOMINATING PROCESS FOR THE ROCHESTER BUSINESS ETHICS AWARD:
Coordinated the entire process, from development of criteria through the final selection, pursuant to the nomination
of Parrone Engineering for The Rochester Business Ethics Award.
PARTNERED WITH COMIDA FOR LOW INTEREST PROGRAM AND SALES TAX EXEMPTION STATUS:
Identified and championed the company’s successful application for a special low interest rate and sales tax
exemption status for equipment and personnel through COMIDA, the County of Monroe Industrial Development
Agency GreatRate program. Met formally with the County Board for review, discussion, and approval.

Reporting directly to the CEO, was tasked with spearheading a company-wide technology initiative and managing
the day-to-day IT operation and strategic direction in response to the company’s rapid expansion.
