Nova Gold, Alaska Gold Co. - Nome Operations, Nome, AK Controller 2008

Implemented JD Edwards for Nova Gold's first operating mine. I discovered

that the mine was paying highway use tax on diesel fuel used off road. I

filed returns for the previous year resulting in approximately $400,000

refund from the State of Alaska. Supervised payroll, accounts payable,

accounts receivable, fixed assets, IT, purchasing, warehousing, and

prepared capital and operating budgets.

General Chemical, Green River, WY Accounting Manager 2006 - 2008

Implemented JD Edwards manufacturing accounting July 1, 2006. Trained

staff to use JD Edwards for month end closing. I identified the accounting

staff was reporting sales tax as part of the reporting asset purchases for

property tax. Revised prior years return excluding sales tax from the

property tax records resulting in a substantial costs savings. Supervise

payroll, accounts payable, and accounting. Responsible for month end

closing, financial statements, cash flow, filing royalties, severance tax,

production tax, property tax, and SOX compliance.

Placer Dome Inc., Turquoise Ridge Joint Venture, Winnemucca, NV. Senior

Accountant 2004 -2006. Computer System: JD Edwards, Hyperion, Microsoft

Excel and Word. Supervised accounting, accounts payable, and payroll.

Assisted in preparation of capital and expense budgets. Responsible for

month end closing and preparing financial statements for Placer Dome and

Newmont Mining Company.

Set up warehouse inventory and cycle counts for Eaton Corporation; an axle

factory.

Reconciled the balance sheet 1999 forward as it was out of balance. Took a

physical inventory of the warehouse to true up the general ledger to the

subsidiary ledger. Responsible for month end closing and preparing

financial statements and variance analysis.
