Operational Planner and Staff Oceanographer - Carrier Air Group Seven,
Coronado, CA 2000-2002
Executive-level adviser and provider of meteorology and oceanography
support services for ships, aircraft and submarines in a deploying U.S.
Navy battle group. Participated in the planning and execution of several
multi-national military operations as the battle group's long range planner
and scheduler.
. Developed and implemented a quick response scheduling plan to expedite
the deployment readiness of more than a dozen ships preparing for a
short-notice wartime transit to the Indian Ocean by tailoring plans to
meet individual unit needs. The approach, which enabled the entire
battle group to respond to real-world events and deploy two months
early, was formally adopted and standardized by the U.S. Navy for
future deploying units.
. Assembled a multi-national team of more than 60 military meteorologists
that responsively delivered high-quality personalized support services
to combat forces after September 11, 2001.
