After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in October 1986 I became the
machinist for Lone Star Industries New York Trap Rock division in Poughkeepsie, A 5 million
ton per year quarry. In October 1987 I was promoted to production and repair manager and sent
to our Rockland County based quarry in West Nyack. My responsibilities included: Budgeting,
Drilling and Blasting, Production and maintenance. I worked all 3 shifts with other managers
making significant changes to improve production and decrease down time. In 1996 I returned
to the Poughkeepsie based plant known as Clinton point as the plant superintendent. My
responsibilities were the same as West Nyack, but on a larger scale. I resigned from Lone Star
Industries with good standing accepting a position with Waste Management as superintendent of
their brownfill land reclamation and crushing facilities in the northeast region. My
responsibilities were budgeting, scheduling repair and maintenance, production, P/R with local
government officials and marketing the finished products. I resigned from Waste Management
also with good standing to become the plant superintendent for Highland Stone in Highland
Mills, N.Y. With a much smaller capacity of 500,000 tons per year. My responsibilities were
Budgeting, Drilling and Blasting, Production, Repair and Maintenance, site development
working closely with DEC and the EPA. In May of 2006 Thalle Industries offered an exciting
plants superintendent/operations manager position to oversee the Fishkill and the Elmsford
plants. My duties included Budgeting Drilling and blasting with the emphasis on pre splitting
and finished benches working with DEC and EPA on the reclamation and planting of the
finished benches. I work closely with our Geologist for all of our permitting of both plants.
I am computer literate and have excellent communication skills I have 25 years
experience in the above fields. I offer a hard working and loyal attitude along with a high
standard of professionalism.

I understand that all aspects of safety for miners is important, however I pay great attention to
high walls, ground conditions and berms. June of 1994, the location was Lone Star industries
Clinton point. A company driller was being transported to a new drilling site by his supervisor.
Driving in the company pickup, the supervisor was unable to detect a berm had been missing
due to an over shot bench. The driller and the supervisor went to close to the shot area and fell
66 feet. The truck landed on its roof pinning the employees from escaping. Rescue crews were
on the scene in minutes extracting the employees. The supervisor had severe head trauma and
had to be flown to the hospital while the driller was taken in an ambulance with serious injuries.
The supervisor never recovered and died in 2004 having never spoken a word or opened his
eyes. The driller had a broken back, head trauma and numerous lacerations. His recovery was
extensive and painful. He returned to work 1 year later in good health. I tell this event because
the supervisor was my good friend; we worked together for many years. The driller is my older
brother and I mourn the loss of my friend and cherish the time with my brother.
