Academic Projects
Heterotrophic Denitrification of Contaminated Water Using Organic Compost Jun- Dec 2012
(University of Saskatchewan)
• This project dealt with treating wastewater produced from petrochemical plants enriched with nitrate
using organic compost, which was inexpensive and available to remove nitrate. Used ion
chromatograph for the measurement of nitrate removal
Design of Effluent Treatment Plant of a Textile Industry Jul- Dec 2007
(Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology)
• Designed a water treatment plant for treating the textile wastewater for a textile company and
indicated the operation of the effluent treatment plant. Evaluated the operating cost of the entire unit
Related Work Experience
Department of Chemical Engineering- University of Saskatchewan May 2011- Apr 2012
Research Assistant Saskatoon, SK
• Assisted in the applied thermodynamics lab
• Conducted several experiments and measurements in gas chromatograph and Karl-Fischer titration
for the condensed samples from a distillation process to find out recovery of the process.
Department of Chemical Engineering- University of Saskatchewan Sept- Dec 2011
Teaching Assistant Saskatoon, SK
• Assisted professors in grading tests and assignments for various chemical engineering course
• Led small group discussions and answered students questions
Urea Fertilizer Factory Limited Summer 2007
Internship Dhaka, Bangladesh
• In-plant training at various units and maintenance of the equipment such as pump, compressor,
boiler, turbine, generator, transformer, heat-exchanger and so on
• Studied detail process flow diagram, material and energy balance of entire plant
