in sales volume while at the same time cutting out significant over-
time. These efforts served to mitigate the introduction of
unnecessary disruptions into the manufacturing process.
. Initiated training program for new assemblers to address ergonomics
and productivity time to break even. This program was also directed
towards providing tools for employees unable to perform at full duty.
. Deployed a productivity monitoring and control system allowing for
data driven performance decisions/discussions in an otherwise
objective work environment. This included a management by wandering
approach taking aim at issues affecting the workforce.

. Redefined shipping system to optimize shipping by customer

orders depending on current need. This project resulted in a $50K
annuity of yearly bottom line; hard savings for the plant in removal
of expedite shipping alone.
. Moved business onto a common platform ERP (MAPICS) through the removal
of home grown systems no longer supported at the division/corporate
level thus allowing for better business continuity.
. Reduced footprint of "tool crib" in order to generate space for the
production of new product. Other deliverables of this product
included: the implementation of a new maintenance work order system,
the reorganization of the workforce to better manage the area,
improved accounting of expense items with saving following shortly
after, and a visibility and reduction in excess/obsolete materials.
. Improved the operation's time to perform a physical inventory by 50%.
This reduction resulted in greater uptime and less impact to sales.
