Work Experience

May 2011 to Present Senior Consultant at VanRath, Belfast.

VanRath are currently Northern Ireland’s largest specialist recruitment

consultancy. My role within VanRath is focused on recruiting staff into

temporary, permanent and contract roles across Northern Ireland, UK and ROI.

• Managed large, full life cycle recruitment campaigns for both local and

global organizations – e.g. Bombardier Aerospace, Caterpillar Plc,

Terex/Powerscreen, Northern Ireland Civil Service, University of Ulster,

Queens University Belfast, Allen & Ovary, and Quinn Group.

• Worked closely with Northern Irelands top universities (Queens

University and University of Ulster) to ensure students were gaining the

best opportunities upon graduation by canvassing local businesses and

organizations selling the benefits of hiring direct from the local talent

pool.

• Managing up to 90 temporary staff per week – including all HR

responsibility, processing of timesheets and payroll queries.

• New business generation through sales calls, client visits and referrals.

• Generating candidates suitable for my specialist area through Job

adverts, social media and referrals – Meeting with all candidates before

the recruitment process starts to ensure they are of a suitable standard to

represent my business in front of clients.

Nov 2009 to May 2011 Senior Consultant - Hays, Belfast.

Hays are one of the UK’s largest specialist recruitment companies. I worked as

a recruiting expert in Accountancy & Finance.

• Generating new business through sales activity, such as canvas calls,

mailers and visits to potential clients.

• Maintaining current relationships and ensuring clients receive the

highest level of customer service.

• Generating candidates suitable for my specialist area through Job

Jan 2007 to March 2008 Sales and Business Development Manager at Streetplay Leisure, Ireland.

As the Technical Sales and Business Development Manager –Ireland for the

Sole sport surfaces brand I was responsible for the development and

implementation of a sales and marketing plan for the brand throughout Northern

Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

• Working with senior members of staff throughout the company, to

produce promotional material and a sharp functional website.

• Travelling throughout the country conducting sales meetings and

promoting the brand within the industry.

• Key success in this role was the design and sale of a €1 Million project

(Soccer pitch and facilities for games up to UEFA standard) for the FAI

in Dublin – this included large scale tender, sourcing products from

central Europe, sales meetings in ROI and Europe, as well as project

management.

August 2004 to July 2005 International Intern at Appalachian State University, Boone.

I was employed by the Student Union. This was a program sponsored by the

University and gave international students insight into running certain aspects

campus facilities.
