“Fair Trade and the Specific Factors Model” (spring 2012)
With two other group members, we analyzed the economic effects of fair trade through the specific factors
model dealing with capital and labor. We found that fair trade, while well-meaning, does not often
accomplish many of its economic goals due to market inefficiencies.
“China’s fixed exchange rate system and its effect on the United States” (spring 2011)
With two other group membe rs, we analyzed the effects that China’s fixed exchange rate on the U.S.
economy at large using macroeconomic models dealing with aggregate supply and demand. The U.S.
economy would be positively affected by China having a more floating exchange rate.
Bond Rating Competition (fall 2012)
In a team with three others, we were tasked with assessing a fictional company’s bonds using Moody’s
bond rating methodology and financial modeling in Excel. We had to project revenues for the next 8
quarters and compare these with management’s projections.
