County Market. Prepare strategic plans and implement growth strategies

. Foster relationships within the county and with the medical staff that
promote Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare as the premier healthcare

. Balance volumes, services and staffing effectively based upon
utilization and changes in services demanded
. Have played a significant role in integrating Patient and Family
Centered principals in our organization and through collaboration have
included Family Partners in the hiring process of staff and leaders
and have adopted many of their suggested best practices.
Accomplishments:
. Improved financial losses* from $1.2M in 2006 to less than $200k in
2008.
. Recognized by Leapfrog in 2009 for exceptional care in Pneumonia for
both cost and quality.
. Named by TJC in 2010 as a top 14% performer in Pneumonia care and
expect to do so again in 2011 and 2012. Also in 2010, there were no
fallouts in core measures for CHF care. As a special note, we measure
using the Appropriate Care Composite scoring methodology.
. Lead the MLH system in Associate Loyalty every year with one
exception: 2011, when we performed an RIF two weeks prior to our
survey period. Despite the fact that our employee participants at
that time included those who were completing their notice period, we
still met the system goal.
. Maintain a very low voluntary turnover rate year over year.
. Routinely meet ED, Surgical Services, Radiology, and Laboratory
quality metrics goals.
. Consistently perform well in TJC, State, Fire, CAP and other
regulatory surveys.
. Demonstrate expertise in contract negotiations, community
relationships, and team building
. Address difficult situations in a straightforward manner, with
competence and compassion
. Leadership oversight for both:
1. Implementation of EMR including CPOE
2. Attainment of Stage 1 Meaningful Use at Fayette Hospital
. Persevered in encouraging system leadership to pursue Meaningful Use
which will result in roughly $4,700,000 in incentive payments.
