SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

< Budget Management: Exceeded budget expectations for 8 consecutive years

by reducing net expense from 6.7% to 4.9% of sales. This was achieved by

implementing strategic plans to address areas of opportunity, including

continuous spend analysis, trend identification, network optimization and

carrier management

< Carrier consolidation: Challenged with a lack of coordination over which

carriers were used by different departments. Initiated a detailed

comparison of expense by mode and carrier, gathered requirements from

internal and external customers, invited proposals across transportation

modes and negotiated a uniform contract. Reduced the supplier base from

more than 50 carriers to 7 within one year and reduced expenses by

$125,000.

< Network Optimization: Led a cross functional project to address a

reduction in sales due to lengthening order completion times and split

orders shipping from multiple warehouses. Consolidated distribution

locations from five to one, reduced inventory by $5 million, increased

fill rates to 98.37% while reducing customer order cycle from 4.2 to 1.78

days. The process improvement grew sales by 18% ($3.5 million) during

the first 12 months.

< Reduced Inbound Transportation: Challenged with over-dependence on a 3 PL

supplier who was not delivering on contractually committed annual savings

of $500k. Successfully replaced the 3PL with a Transportation Management

system. Reduced inbound transportation expense from 3.15% Freight as a

Percent of Sales to 2.18% through system initiatives, vendor

consolidations, contract negotiations, improving fill rates, decreasing

lead time and reducing inventory.

< Process Improvement: Developed and implemented a program to standardize

decision-making policies for all 46 warehouse locations, encompassing

daily freight decisions, freight routing, pick-and-pack staff training,

performance benchmarks and reporting. This resulted in savings of

$300,000 within 1.5 years.
