To Whom It May Concern:
I am a highly-driven and talented young professional seeking a position in
the Parkersburg area that offers opportunities for advancement and growth
in my career. I currently hold a Regents Bachelors of Arts degree and am a
Licensed Social Worker in the state of West Virginia.
My experiences have focused on social advocacy and the provision of social
services in several capacities within the community. Previous experience
working in the field of children's services provided the opportunity to
provide advocacy for the needs of children, while also providing services
to meet the needs of individual families. Additionally, working in the
field of long term care, in the positions of Social Service Assistant and
Director of Social Services, have allowed me to advocate and provide
services that meet the needs of the elderly population. Through these
experiences I have developed an in-depth understanding of the physical,
emotional, and psycho-social needs of the community.
Furthermore, I have coordinated the completion of case evaluations,
psychological profiles, and care planning for patients and their families.
My extensive experience includes dealing with abuse and neglect of children
and adults under the welfare service; as well as advocating for children
and the geriatric population while monitoring their progress made
throughout the process. During these experiences, I have learned the
importance of strategic planning and policy development while working in
close collaboration with health care providers, service providers,
community, and state agencies.
Besides the experience listed on my enclosed resume, I enjoy working with
people and am known for continually putting forth effort to go beyond
expectations with regards to service, timeliness, and accuracy. I am
proficient in operating computers, working independently, and working
collaboratively within a team. I am also encouraged by the possibility of
continuing my career, living and working in the Wood County area; which has
truly become my home. I believe that my variety of skills has prepared me
to excel in the field of Social Services. Thank you in advance for your
consideration and if you have any questions or are in need of additional
information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Melisa C. Haught, LSW
