EVS Aide
• As an Environmental Services Aide performed a variety of general cleaning
tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned building
areas which included:
• Followed specific procedures to perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms
and prepared rooms for new patients.
• Used industrial cleaning agents and equipment, following appropriate safety
procedures.
• Operated mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, vacuums and scrubbers. Used
commercial washer and dryers to clean mops and cleaning towels. Clean and
sterilize trash carts. Transport trash to compactors to perform cleaning
operations throughout the facility.
• Arranged various meeting and conference room furniture and support
equipment.
• Followed Standard Precautions using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as
required to remove bio-hazard waste and non-medical waste according to
established procedures.
• Handled chemicals and materials associated with cleaning (such as but not
limited to soaps, solvents, waxes, stripping solutions, window and surface
cleaners).
• Moved furniture, equipment supplies in and around hospital departments, also
performed a variety of environmental service duties.
• Cleaned a variety of surfaces (such as walls, floors, windows, ceilings, vents,
carpet, tile, patient care equipment, beds, chairs and tables in clinical and non-
clinical environments (such as patient rooms, offices, conference rooms, break
rooms, halls).
• Prepared linen for use and placed on patient care equipment, removed and
properly contained soiled linen.
• Removed, transported and disposed of regular, biohazard, sharps, chemotherapy,
and other waste products within and throughout the healthcare environment from
origination point to disposal location.
