My experience involves 20+ years of direct patient Care: in-patient, out-patient and

home health settings. The 1st 10 years I spent working in Med- Surg. “unit focus,

Diabetes, GI, Respiratory, infectious disease and oncology”. The second half involved

mainly Endoscopy procedures, as an admitting, procedural assist and recovery RN. This

past year I have had the opportunity to experience home health, as a private duty nurse.

Duties having included one on one care to post-surgical patients and currently, care and

companionship for a Alzheimer client.

Duties: Post-op care and rehab assist to patient with bi-lateral Knee replacement. Ie:

Assistance with comfort measures. “Meds positioning and ice packs for comfort

measures. Daily observation of in dressing changes to surgical sight. Provide

transportation to MD and physical therapy appointments. Assist and prepare Meals daily.

Duties: One-on-one care for Alzheimer Patient. Patient safety measures implemented,

companionship, meal preparation, also assist with ADL’s and medication administration.
