The power plant Business Unit Leader has stated that I have the best CoW
system going in the business unit! I am also writing a complete set of
Maintenance Procedures for WCE.

drivers, 150 tractors and 400 trailers. Ensure DOT and OSHA compliance.

Responsible for total compliance with DOT Hazmat regulations, Emergency
Response and associated company policies throughout North America.
In charge of Safety Train and Sidekick Hazmat training programs. I have

Primary contact with DOT and State agencies- Totally eliminated a fine that
had a personal injury associated. Reduced or eliminated many others.

Responsible for the efficient and cost-effective shipment of bulk and
package motor and industrial oils, food grade oils and waxes via highway
and rail with an annual budget of $12 MM.
Totally reworked the entire transportation system, cutting nearly $4.5 MM
out of the annual budget during a period in which throughput increased.
Improved on-time delivery rate and customer satisfaction tremendously.
Prepared the transportation system for ISO certification. Passed
certification inspection.
Was lead from my business unit for transportation implementation of SAP.
Rail Safety Coordinator, Amoco Oil Company, Chicago, IL
Responsible to maintain Amoco compliance with DOT regulations and company
safety policies in rail shipping and related areas. Although the primary
job title concerned rail compliance I also became the primary expert in
truck and small package issues for the entire refinery system and most of
the Chemical Plants, Production Gas Plants and Offshore Platforms.
Discovered a proposed change in Title 49 CFR, 173.24b that would have cost
industry many Millions of dollars. One study, many letters and phone calls
and a visit later, DOT actually allowed me to re-write the new regulation
for them, saving Amoco several million dollars/year.
Lead responder/Incident Commander for Hazmat transportation incidents for
North America.
Primary Amoco contact with DOT, reduced and eliminated many fines.
Conducted training for DOT lawyers. Sold training materials and programs
that I created to outside companies, a first in Amoco.
Terminal Manager, Huntington and Griffith, IN LPG Terminals, Amoco.
Completed installation of A.O. Smith Acculoads and turbine meters, a
project that I performed solo from initial drawings to final proving. It
was passed by Engineering with NO modifications. According to the
manufacturer, this was the first time they had been installed for Propane
use. Followed up with record low loss figures. I have since discovered
that the success of this project prompted the installation of these meters
in all of the other LPG terminals in the BP system.
Created and programmed system within Lotus 123 to track all terminal safety
and maintenance items. I went on to install and customize this system in
all of the other LPG terminals.
Various positions within Conoco, Inc., ending with Terminal Supervisor at
the Huntington, IN LPG Terminal. (Terminals purchased by Amoco)
I started with Conoco in Minneapolis, MN and was moved several times: to
Sheboygan, WI, Niles, MI and Huntington, IN.
- Developed many skills during this time- Electrical, lab and mechanical
skills, management, inventory and quality control, contract negotiation,
personnel development, knowledge of NFPA, OSHA and EPA guidelines and
regulations.

Professional Business Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota: Associates in
Data Processing. I was at the head of my class.
Irondale High School in New Brighton, Minnesota. Included in my course
listings were Algebra, Advanced Algebra, Geometry, Plane and Solid
Trigonometry, Math Analysis (college level Calculus), Biology, Chemistry,
Physics and Computer Programming. I graduated with a 3.93 (out of 4) grade
point average. Led Chess Team (1st board, NO losses in 3 years) to
Minnesota State Chess Championship.
