A results-oriented Professional Engineer with proven analytical, structural and leadership abilities in the oil & gas industry
over ten years; determined to perform projects successfully with the applications of the most technologically advanced
engineering. Extensive experience in strategic planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, construction,
project management, client / consultant interaction, report preparation & presentation. A supportive, team orientated
leader dedicated to safety with a strong focus on cost effectiveness, efficiency and highly detailed planning.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2007 – 2013
AECON INDUSTRIAL GROUP, Sherwood Park, Alberta,
Technical Specialist
Responsible for coordination of all technical problem solving, forecasting and cost impact between clients, consultants,
shop & field personnel.
Led & completed the stick-built pipe fabrication for “ConocoPhillips Surmont Phase 2 Project” on time within 14
months resulting in savings of over $500K. Completed 575K factored diameter inch in the fabrication shop throughout
the project.
Successfully completed 206 piperack, electrical and equipment modules for “Shell Scotford Upgrader Expansion 1
Project” within a specified time frame. Efficiently utilized manpower resulting in a 19% profit margin.
Developed a cost and budgeting system in database that allowed to accurately track the cost of a project. Actual cost
was significantly cut by application of this system.
All potential technical problems including processing communications, submittals, RFI’s, EWO’s, CWO’s, NCR’s were
submitted in an efficient manner.
Ensured all the project milestones and budget were reviewed with all concerned parties during project conceptual
stage (FEL 0 & FEL 1) to make the project viable and cost effective.
Reviewed and analyzed the project schedule and cost reports and suggested corrective actions to ensure the
anticipated cost was within the budgeted cost and eliminated excessive down time.
Analyzed Primavera P6 schedule and updated the schedule data throughout the project to identify all critical activities
to avoid project delay.
2004 – 2006
LEDCOR INDUSTRIAL LTD., Fort McMurray, Alberta,
Field Engineer – OPTI – Nexen Long Lake Project
Responsible for project planning, execution, reporting and resolved all field related technical issues .
Coordinated with clients, consultants and construction personnel regarding technical issues to resolve the problems
on a regular basis and prepared weekly progress reports for the Clients / Consultants.
Supported an employee workforce of over 400 within a fast-paced, high growth-construction environment.
Evaluated work assignments and developed a master schedule for multiple trades to facilitate proper usage of limited
labor resources. Man power was reduced by 25%.
Reviewed engineering drawings and erection procedures prior to module installation. Impleme nted QC systems,
decreased defective products 99% and saved cost of material and labor.
Coordinated with all concerned parties during Front End Engineering and Detailed Design (FEED) phase to ensure
engineering resources, materials deliverables, schedule and budgeted cost are lined up.
Reviewed engineering drawings and procedures from the pre-implementation phase of the project through
engineering construction and commissioning.
Reviewed and ensured installation work for equipment, for example: reactors, furnaces, heaters, vessels, heat
exchangers, compressors, steam turbines, pumps and coolers in compliance with approved engineer ing drawings and
specifications to avoid project delay.
Achieved an incentive bonus for 1 million accident free man-hr.
.
