SUMMARY
I have over 25 years of experience in the mold build/repair,
tooling and fixture profession. I also have 15 years of
knowledge and skills in tool room supervision and management.
I'm looking for a company where I'll be challenged
professionally and opportunities exist for advancement and
growth, both for myself and the company.
WORK HISTORY
2001 - present R&D Engineering Toolmaker, GHSP
I produced tooling and small plastic
injection tools for prototype needs. This included using all
standard tool room equipment along with 2 axis
and 3 axis cnc machines. I also ran Surfcam
tool pathing software to produce 3 axis
parts, often involving multiple set-ups on Haas cnc
machines. Often worked directly with
engineers to obtain desired results.
1999 - 2001 Tooling Leader, Grand Haven Stamp Products
My main duties included setting up a preventative maintenance program
and starting up a fully capable toolshop. I'm also the tool
engineer for all tooling within our custom molding facility.
I set up budgets, purchase components and equipment, schedule
engineering changes and preventative maintenance on a day to
day and yearly basis. I not only direct tooling and mold
issues, I build and repair them as well. I'm also quite
involved in R&D and fixture needs.
1998 - 1999 Team Leader, Batts, Inc.
At Batts, Inc. I was the tool room lead person. My duties included
starting up a custom tool room department to support new
endeavors as well as running it. I worked closely with
scheduling, purchasing, production and engineering. It was a
small department so that I was hands-on with mold builds,
engineering changes, prototype work and repairs which also
included running all the tool room equipment.
1995 - 1998 Leadperson, L.S. Mold
While employed at L.S., I operated all tool room equipment, while
building and repairing plastic injection molds. I was also
responsible for all the work being completed on time, right
the first time, and under budget. Also included would be
scheduling work load, on-going training for employees,
ordering supplies, customer contact, and quoting of jobs.
1983-1995 Supervisor/Lead Moldmaker, Batts, Inc.
At Batts, I started out as a mold repairman before being
promoted to lead man, then into the tool room supervisor
position. I gained experience in meeting deadlines and
schedules while performing on all types of equipment such as
surface grinders, spotting presses, mills, EDM, CNC, as well
as benching and polishing. Other duties included overseeing
mold build projects, customer contact and trouble shooting
molds.
1978-1983 Apprentice Moldmaker, Jetco Tool and Die
I started my toolmaker career at Jetco by working with all
tool room equipment while putting my hours in for my
journeyman's card. By the time I departed, I had advanced to
the lead moldmaker position.
