Ability Summery
My expertise is problem solving and customer service. That in a nutshell is
what a commercial salesman does. My ability to hear what a customer is
saying and to act on it to the benefit of both the company and the customer
is what builds relationships. I have over15 years doing just that, building
relationships. My training and experience have led me to be a team builder
and to be able to encourage both the team I'm with and the leaders I'm
serving under.
Employment History
Commercial Sales and Leasing
08/01/12 - Present Bradshaw Chevrolet
Greer, SC
With the improving economy Bradshaw Chevrolet decided to establish a
commercial presence. They brought me on to contact the business in the
upstate that I had developed relationships with and to offer them light
duty commercial vehicles as well as fleet service.
Medium Duty Specialist
11/2010 - 8/2012 Carolina International Trucks Greer,
SC
I was hired to contact end users in the construction and building trades
for the TerraStar, a new platform of medium duty trucks that was introduced
when General Motors pulled out of the medium duty market in 2008. Using the
contacts I developed within the different trade organizations and large
builders, I introduced the TerraStar. In July of 2012 International Trucks
was notified by the EPA that their new concept engine was not going to win
approval for its emissions. Sales were extremely slow and Carolina
International revaluated its medium duty sales force in the upstate and
downsized accordingly.
Advertising Sales Agent
10/2009 - 11/2010 Dominion Enterprises
Norfolk, VA
I contacted both new and existing customers for The Commercial Truck
Trader, both a web based and a weekly print publication devoted to
advertising commercial trucks and heavy equipment. Using both Google and
Bing as platforms for search engine optimization I constructed web based
advertising and set layout for the weekly paper. This entailed setting up
contracts between Dominion and the customer. I was responsible for
receivables on the accounts I established.
Outside Commercial Salesman
09/1997 -10/2009 Simpsonville Chevrolet and Ferrell Chevrolet Greer,
SC
As an outside commercial salesman I supplied vehicles to members of trade
associations such as the Plumbing Contractors of SC, The Associated
Builders and Contractors and the Mechanical Contractors Association. This
included attending monthly meetings and yearly trade shows as well as
developing the independent contractors that were able to take advantage of
national programs.

Warehouse Operations Manager
03/1990 - 10/1997 Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Greer,
SC
In 1996 I transferred to South Carolina to accept the position of warehouse
manager for the commercial truck center in Greer. My responsibilities
included maintaining inventory and scheduling production for the local
retread plant. I also acted as a local operations
officer under the Center Manager. My responsibilities included inventory
control for the center as well as for the retreading manufacturing plant
that was located on Highway 14 in Greer. As the warehouse manager I
developed and implemented a control system that coordinated plant
production with DOT numbers on existing stock. This initially resulted in a
large write-off of outdated inventory that was an issue at the local level
but with support from the regional management it was put into practice. The
effect was unfavorable at first but lead to justifying the increased
production at our local retreading plant. I also initiated electronic
inventory control at point of contact for the retread stock. I also was
responsible for maintaining stocking levels of raw materials for the
retread plant and the necessary repair parts for the Commercial Truck
center. This involved coordinating with both local suppliers and the
distribution center of Goodyear Tire National
From 1990-1997 I was the Western NY and Northern PA Commercial Salesman
for medium duty truck tires, off road mining and agriculture tires. I
transferred to Greer, SC when the Western NY site was converted to a
warrantee collection facility for the northeast district in 1996.
