appropriateness of drug, dose, indication, potential interactions, and length

provide dosing and treatment recommendations; medication reconciliation;
patient education (warfarin, furosemide); clinically monitoring patients on
high-risk or therapeutic drug level medications; performing pharmacist pain
consults; filling and checking intravenous and unit-dose medications; attending

Responsibilities included conducting Brownbag Outreach Program sessions
(which include medication counseling, monitoring and review), preparing

several times a week, providing medication information and advice when
needed, recognizing and rectifying medication dosing and transcription
errors with attending physicians, weekly projects on numerous disease
states and treatments, presenting journal club articles, writing reports
on various medication interactions (including medications involved,
symptoms, prevention, and management) to be used as a resource in the
pharmacy at Eleanor Slater Hospital, and giving a lecture to 5th year
pharmacy students at URI.

Occasional visits with my chihuahua to Eleanor Slater Hospital with Dr.
Jayne Pawasauskas to visit with patients in the long-term
ventilator-dependent unit.
Oct 05, 2009 - Student Representative Volunteer: College of Pharmacy
Groundbreaking Ceremony. Elected student representative of the College of
Pharmacy for the Groundbreaking Ceremony to personally greet and escort
various government officials and other public figures.
Sep 2006 - Oct 2009 - Phone-a-Thon Sessions. Called accepted/prospective
students to talk about the pharmacy program at URI and responded to their
questions and concerns.
Apr 24, 2009 - 4th Grade Outreach Program. Taught a 4th grade class about
vitamins and minerals at a North Kingstown Elementary school.
Mar 2006 - Dec 2008 - Meet The University Day at URI. Lead tours, talked
to prospective students, and provided information about the College of
Pharmacy at booths in the Memorial Union/Ryan Center.
Sept 2006 - Dec 2008 - Centennial Scholar Day. Gave personal tours of the
College to prospective students and parents, gave presentations to new
incoming students and parents, participated in Q&A sessions as a student
representative, worked at information booths on campus, and demonstrated
many of the College technologies to student/parent tour groups.
Oct 2006 - Nov 2006 - Volunteer: "Yes On 4" Campaign for the College of
Pharmacy. Campaigned for approval of Question 4, which allowed the State
of Rhode Island to issue $65 million in revenue bonds for the construction
of a new facility for the College of Pharmacy at the University of Rhode
Island.
