responsiveness of the employee to
a given problem. Some reports required the use of sub-reports, which
were embedded in the main report. The top 15 reports were showed the
most productive employees, as well as the lowest 15, least productive
employees. In sum, the reports showed the customer satisfaction rate for
the overall business activity. In essence, this was a business
performance overview for a company for given dates, which dates are

life through development of groundbreaking
applications and dynamic system designs
that deliver unparalleled user experiences.

company. The reports were prepared from an SQL database
(Oracle), by connecting reports through ODBC-DSN. Some reports
dealt with finding top selling products, cross-tab reports,
calculating the revenue YTD, MTD, etc. Other reports involved
creation of parameters to make reports more customizable, i.e.
letting the user define the selection formula by entering
desired parameter values. Some reports also involved definition
of formulas either for formatting purposes or for selection
criteria purposes. Additionally, reports were exported to the
requested format for distribution, ex. HTML format to view
reports with web-browser.
. Worked at one location: OVEN Digital, Sunnyvale, California.
3/98 - 3/99 Systems Analyst, Advanced Business Consultants, Inc., Mission,
Kansas.
Contract: ABC placed me with Burlington
Northern Santa Fe Railroad Corporation:
. Maintaining VB application, i.e. a front-end application utilizing Access
database in the back end;
. Developing Crystal Reports from an Access database (approximately 40
reports); and
. Creating and maintaining Access databases with Visual Basic.
. DETAIL: At the beginning of this project, Visual Basic was the front-end
and the Access database was in the back-end. Some reports functioned as
stand-alone reports, while some of the reports were created through
Visual Basic by using Crystal Reports (CR) - ActiveX. When the Visual
Basic and Access database was upgraded to the Windows NT platform, the
reports did not work, because the application was modified and some
reports were passing parameters to VB and using them in variables.
Therefore, all the reports needed to be re-created. This time all
reports were created from an Access database by using the Database file
- DSN connection; additionally, some reports were created using Bar -
Code font, hand held scanner.

been doing a wonderful job. He has been prompt in completing our reports
and flexible when we have asked for changes. Even though we can't
communicate with him directly, when we have issues he is very proactive and
responds promptly. Jay keeps us abreast of his other responsibilities and
when to expect his next task to be complete. He has a great attitude and
is a pleasure to work with. We truly appreciate his efforts to this point
and look forward to the work ahead.
