Project 1: Have designed and deployed Blackberry Infrastructure on
virtual environment with high availability and SQL mirroring with BES
5.0.3 and Domino server 8.5.2
Abstract of the project
I have designed and deployed the complete blackberry solution for
British American Tobacco (BAT, UK) to provide High availability,
seamless and low cost Blackberry Environment. The Requirement is to have
a redundant Blackberry access in case of software, hardware failure or
complete IDC site failure.
Activity:
. We have designed and deployed the IDC site 1 and 2 to provide HLD
(high level design) for Blackberry Infrastructure with the help of T-
System UK.
. We have successfully tested and deployed Blackberry Infrastructure on
Virtual environment (ESX) (Windows 2008 R2) to provide seamless and
redundant BES Infrastructure.
. We have setup 12 Blackberry Enterprise Servers on VMs, which has
configured to provide HA environment to around 10,000 BES users.
. We have setup remote primary, mirror and witness SQL server instance
for all BESs.
. We have setup and achieve low cost Domino and BES environment as per
management requirement.
. Around 10,000 BES users are successfully running on virtual BES HA
environment.
. We have setup Web desktop manager facility, to avoid delay in desktop
manager level activity like, activation password reset, device switch,
backup and restore of organizer data.
. We have created and deployed 10 Blackberry software application OTA
package to provide applications on Blackberry devices with version 5,
6, 7 and 7.1.
Project 2: BES Infrastructure in virtual environment with High
Availability.
Deployment of Blackberry Infrastructure in HA (High Availability) and
Virtual environment on Domino Platform.
Abstract of the project
Installation and Deployment of Blackberry Infrastructure with HA in virtual
environment for all RADAG group company for providing low cost and seamless
Blackberry access to BES users. The Requirement is to have a redundant
Blackberry access incase of software, hardware failure to Blackberry users.
Activity:
. We have successfully tested and deployed Blackberry Infrastructure on
Virtual environment (Windows 2008 R2 Hyper-V) to provide seamless and
redundant BES Infrastructure.

Project 3: BES Express Deployment for BIS users for all RADAG group company
BES Express deployment for BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) users.
Project Description:
. For providing better, faster and seamless support to BIS users, we
have deployed BES Express environment.
. In which Blackberry users receive E-mail received by the server
appears immediately on the device.
. A choice to synchronize the Inbox, Sent Items and Folders between the
device and server. Real-time Lotus Notes calendar sync between device
and server.
. The ability to accept and forward meeting appointments to colleagues
and peers from the device.
. Encryption of data transmitted between RIM's Infrastructure and our
mail servers.
. Two-way sync (between Blackberry device and server) of the read &
unread count(s) and deleted mails.
. The functionality to read encrypted mails on the Blackberry device.
. Our administrator can engage remote device security services when a
device is lost or stolen.
Project 4: BES Infrastructure deployment for HDFC Bank.
BES Infrastructure with HA and SQL mirroring deployment for client HDFC
bank.
Project Description:
. Previously HDFC bank uses BES (v4.1.7) with MSDE database which only
support 1000 BES users, now they have decided to provide Blackberry
services to all employee (PAN India).
. As per requirement HDFC bank wants to upgrade their BES infrastructure
with HA and SQL mirroring to provide seamless and redundant access to
their employees.
. We have setup two Blackberry Enterprise Servers (v5.0.3) on top of two
clustered domino servers (v8.5.2) with single Blackberry domain which
support 2000 BES users.
. Currently there are 1200 BES users activated and which will increase
to 5000 in near future.
Project 5: BES users' migration from BES v4.1.7 to BES v5.0.3
BES users account migration from older BES version 4.1.7 to latest BES
version 5.0.3 with the help of Blackberry Enterprise Transporter resource
tool.
Project Description:
. Have prepared the list of users with Blackberry statistic details.
. List out Blackberry users according to software configuration, IT
Policy and Line of Business.
. Upgrade the BES users Blackberry device OS version to 4.5 and later
with the help of wireless device up gradation.
. Around 6000 BES Users' successfully migrated to an upgraded BES with
the help of Blackberry Enterprise Transporter.
Project 6: Deployment of Blackberry Monitoring Service for all BESs.
We have deployed BMS v4.1.5, to monitor all Blackberry Enterprise Servers.
Project Description:
. We have configured SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) in all
BESs.
. Have installed Blackberry Monitoring Server v4.1.5 and configured all
BESs with SNMP connectivity.
. Have enabled SNMP alert for all Blackberry Enterprise Windows service
and Lotus Domino Services.
. Have enabled SNMP alert for pending mail count for Elite BES users.
. Have enabled SNMP alert for BES total message pending count, SRP
status, and CPU utilization.
. We have enabled alert notification system in case of service down via
mail with the help of SMTP connection between BMS and SMTP server.
. Generating and managing BES Users and server report on weekly basis
and share the same with Management people.

Configuration database should be in Principal, synchronized and
Mirror Configuration database should be in mirror,
synchronized/restoring mode.
. In BES OS, checking the All Blackberry, SQL, Lotus Domino and
SNMP windows services running status.
. Proactively checking Blackberry configuration database log file
size and if exceeded the limit, performing the shrink operation
through query in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
. Preparing the documentation for BES and domino up gradation.
. Creating and managing support documentation.
. Acting as an escalation point for Helpdesk.
. Managing recurring problems through to permanent resolution.
. Providing solution of escalated issue regarding to data
service, synchronization between Notes client and BB Handheld,
send/receive mail issues, Address book synchronization issue.
