WORK EXPERIENCE

. MATERIALS MANAGEMENT

- Oversaw the materials management department that functioned as liaison

between suppliers,

manufacturing and customers; relative to material requirements,

production and shipping schedules, part problems and packaging.

- Established open, positive communication channels within the sphere of

influence, both internally and externally, and took positive steps to

ensure this image.

- Developed policies, procedures and work instructions for QS9000 in

. MASTER SCHEDULING

- Implemented and maintained a kanban-pull production and material

system using level scheduling, visual control and other Toyota

Production System principles.

- Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring standardized

shop floor scheduling and inventory control practices and procedures

mainly in a MRP environment. Maintain inventory while controlling

inventory costs, ensuring material availability, plant schedule

performance and system date integrity.

- Maintained a strategic master production schedule to capitalize on

press utilization, manpower efficiency, inventory, and material

availability while improving delivery performance for a multi-plant

organization.

. SYSTEMS IMPLEMENTATION

- Coordinated the activities of implementing a MRP II computerized

system to ensure timeliness, direction and training as well as a PC

based customer order and inventory control system.

- Analyzed both manual and computer issues and developed system

solutions to remove those barriers so they would not interfere with

using the computer system.

- Assisted in the development of the EDI interfaces between our

customers EDI information and our computer software to receive

forecast and delivery orders and send shipping information.

- Developed with a computer programmer a RF scanning system in shipping

to eliminate manual data entry, improve throughput and accuracy.

. INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

- Managed inventory to maximized turns for raw material, work-in-process

and finished goods.

- Contributed to the achievement of company objectives by establishing

effective supply strategies and practices in the area of production

and inventory control.

- Monitored inventory adjustments to ensure the root cause for the out-

of-balance condition.

- Identified and kept management informed of major causes and action

plans implemented to correct deficient conditions

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

. Moved from Progressive Stamping to Production Products at the request

of corporate to develop the materials department after having

developed the key employees at Progressive Stamping

. Improved inventory turns from 20 to 30 in 3 months at Production

Products while improving on time delivery

. Managed shipping department that obtained 100% delivery rating for 16

months straight at Midway Products-Progressive Stamping

. Champion for the design, implementation, and maintenance of an MRPII

computerized system (CMS - AS 400 software) as well as for an

inventory control system (Monitor - PC BASED SOFTEARE)

. Led the implementation of a Kanban Pull System in a JIT environment at

Aisin USA as well as combination MRP and Pull System at PK USA

. Trained in the Toyota Production System environment at Aisin USA

. Reduced expedited freight costs by $10,000/year to $500 in 1 year at

Midway Products analyzing system inventory inaccuracies and improved

scheduling methods

. Reduced in-bound freight costs by $100,000/year (10% savings) and

reduced inventory levels by developing a vendor milk run system

. Implemented RF scanning into shipping which reduced manpower 10% and

shipping paperwork errors by 75% at PK USA
