I interrogate the shared drive for documentation which the officers within the department have
completed during the course of their duties. I then print out any documents and file them in the
appropriate file having ensured that it has been filed in the correct location on the shared drive. I sort
and distribute the incoming mail to the relevant person or team within the department. I carry out
fortnightly Fire Warden checks within the department and collate the information submitted from the
other departments within the building. I type various documents as requested by colleagues. I take
minutes of the regional meetings which are held within the department. I produce requisitions for the
officers working within the department. I am administrator for the computer system which the officers
within the department use. I access the departmental e-mail inbox and forward the e-mail to the
relevant person both internally and externally. I have also provided secretarial assistance to the
management team within the department.
Results:
I have set up a spreadsheet detailing the various courses which members of staff within the
department have attended, when and if there is any requirement for a refresher course to be
attended. The Sergeant who requested this to be produced commented on the quality of the work
produced using my organisational skills.
Excelled within a deadline-intensive environment, ensuring the accurate and on-time completion of
all tasks.
