Leadership Directed large Manufacturing, Materials

and Quality areas in difficult times of cost

reductions, higher quality demands and plant staffing

reductions. Result: Improved operating profits while at

the same time reducing fixed and variable operating

expenses.

Multi-tasking Led turnaround effort, along with plant

staff, while working as Operations Manager at

Budd-Kendallville plant to improve quality,

production performance, safety, long and

short term planning along with critical

materials department issues. Reported Key

Measurements monthly to key management

employees. Result: Plant received 2001

Presidents Award for the most improved plant.

Cost Savings Achieved major cost savings at

Budd-Detroit plant by implementing targeted price

reduction with vendor purchased parts, focused

purchasing reviews and implementing

major changes to scrap removal processes.

Result: Saved over $2 million in one year.

Inventory Control Installed an improved inventory control

system at Budd-Kendallville plant resulting in

major cost savings. System included

improvements in production reporting, scrap

reporting along with checks and balances

insuring system was functioning as designed.

Result: Improvements netted annual inventory

improvements valued at over $.5 million.

Customer Interface Aligned with key customers to troubleshoot and

solve fit and finish issues. Followed

up on customer concerns by visiting assembly

plants to insure corrective actions

solved customer issues. Result: Improvements

in customer relations, reduction of

rejections and chargebacks.

Process Improvements Partnered and coordinated with vendors and plant

personnel developing improved

inventory control system for both productive

and non-productive parts. Efforts included

use of bar-coding, automated production count

entry systems which eliminated duplication

of effort by reducing manual entry errors.

Result: Conceptually emulated benchmarked

inventory control system for productive and

non-productive products.

Johnson Controls Battery Plant October 2010 to March 2012

Holland, Ohio

Maintenance Supervisor (Contract)

Responsible for all maintenance activities for a 3 shift operation.

Working to set up a reliable PM program with key members of the plant

staff. Did extensive work on the plants air handling systems as well as

basic 5-S activities with the air compressor room as well as other areas

of the plant. Responsible for scheduling all activities including

overtime and weekend project work.

Chrysler Toledo Machining - May 2010 to Oct 2010

Perrysburg, Ohio

Maintenance Supervisor (Contract)

Responsible for maintenance activities in a large manufacturing area

including major repairs, routine maintenance work along with preventative

activities. Worked closely with UAW skilled as well as front line

management and hourly production leaders. Ordered parts, maintained PM

data base for assigned area. Worked with trades and hourly leaders to

discover root causes of repeat maintenance or equipment issues. Left

this plant to October to explorer an opportunity at Johnson Controls in

Holland, Ohio.

Sypris Technologies 2007-2009- Plant Closed

Kenton, Ohio

Quality Manager-

Provide strong leadership as interim Materials Manager reducing plant

inventory by 40% in a 3 month period along with solving major supply

issues with Key suppliers. With the assistance of division personnel set

up interim MRP system to stream line ordering process for key components.

Worked successfully with key customer and supplier contacts to resolve

supply issues of key components used in manufacturing processes.

Currently transitioning to Quality Manager position while working with

new Materials Manager.

Proto- Techniques 2005- 2007- Plant Closed

South Lyon, Michigan

Plant Manager-

Responsible for Plant Performance, Safety, Materials, Maintenance,

Budgets, Scheduling and shipping activities. Worked closely with program

management, tool engineering, and tryout out personnel as well as

manufacturing insuring delivery of quality prototype metal stampings

parts which were delivered on time and within budgeted dollar allocation.

Toledo Molding and Die 2003-2004- Plant Closed

Tiffin Plant, Tiffin, Ohio and Carey Plant, Carey, Ohio

Afternoon Shift Production Manager:

Oversaw shipping, manufacturing, quality, safety, maintenance and die

transition on the afternoon shift for both Tiffin and Carey Ohio plants.

Carey plant closed. Production consisted of both injection and blow

molded plastic parts. Supervised 30 direct and 5 indirect employees.

Thyssen Krupp Budd Plastics Division 1999-2003

Budd Plant, Carey, Ohio 2002- 2003

Plant Materials Manager

Managed shipping, receiving, stores, inventory control, production

scheduling, and purchasing. Oversaw plant

shipping performance to all OEM destinations for compression-molded

plastic parts both exposed and unexposed.

Consulted on-site at OEM assembly plants to resolve quality issues.

Supervised 5 management and 25 indirect

employees.

Budd Plant, Kendallville, Indiana 1999- 2002

Managed all plant manufacturing and materials operations for exposed and

unexposed compression molded plastic

parts shipped to OEM customers. Traveled to OEM assembly plants to

troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.

Managed all shipping, receiving, stores, inventory control, production

scheduling, purchasing and major cost

reductions and plant shipping performance to OEM destinations.

purchasing and inventory management along with 100 indirect employees in

in a large stamping plant which manufactured large exposed sheet metal
