PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Sonoco Rigid Paper & Closures - Carrollton, TX- Production Manager

Manager of all Production/Quality/Maintenance/Human Resources and Budgeting

(#2 position in plant) overseeing 7 direct report salaried managers and an

additional 65 hourly indirect report employees. This facility is a through

the door operation connected with Ralcorp Corporation that produces over

750,000 biscuit and dough containers daily. Responsible for staffing,

scheduling, safety, quality, production, and conflict resolution within a

manufacturing facility.

2010-Present

In 2010 had a 20% improvement in all dough production lines with the

implementation of daily KPI tracking and monitoring system.

Leader of Safety Committee and Energy Isolation Team producing record low

number of first aids and recordable injuries.(Current Safety streak is at

2.5 years without a lost time accident).

. Full Plant Management responsibility when position is

absent/vacated

. Heavily involved in employee retention and hiring process

2008- 2010

Manage Warehouse, Shipping and Production Departments, overseeing 4

rotating shifts expediting 500+ truck loads of glass per month. Oversee

manufacturing line of 11 direct reports (salaried) and an additional 140

indirect report employees (hourly). Led a Kaizen team of 15 management

team members that led to an annual cost reduction of $58k due to decreased

forklift traffic.

. Transitioning to a manufacturing "Upper Management" expanded role,

being trained to oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process,

including Shipping, Logistics, 5 manufacturing production lines,

Quality Control, and Maintenance.

2004-2008

Oversaw planning and operations of 5 departments (50+ people including 4-5

. Developed a transportation system for surgically implanted medical

devices to be moved more efficiently within the "pipeline", resulting

in a total monthly savings of approximately $10k

. Analyzed product flow and developed a new transportation device that

guaranteed the integrity of the medical device to next step in

pipeline for a $40k-$50k, monthly savings in scrap reduction.
