My responsibilities included meeting with the client to review their business to develop exposures, I also used
many online tools to gather information on the insured’s business. Occasionally I would also gather their
current insurance contracts to review as well. I would analyze their business for exposure and determine the
best carriers to submit that particular insurance program to. I would then enter the information on standard
insurance applications to submit to insurance carriers. In many instances I would also enter the information
onto the online system for the insurance carriers, negotiate pricing and contract language. I then would
prepare a professional presentation to submit to the client. My responsibilities also included assisting existing
clients with their changes and renewal procedure.
I am familiar with many online insurance programs, TAM (Applied) operating system, and use of the internet.

As an underwriter, I would review new submissions from the agency base, order and analyze the reports that
would help to determine if the applicant met the underwriting guidelines. I would then determine the lines of
coverage that I would be offering, determine the best contract wording that would be offered, determine the
pricing then make the presentation to the agent. I also worked with a considerable amount of clients with
retrospective rating programs to determine if there would be a return premium given due to developing losses.
Reviewed and analyzed the losses to determine if we would be able to remain on the risk and if pricing
adjustments were necessary then produce the renewal proposal for the agent.
