Production Manager
The Louisville Foil plant is the only in the United States that produces
the Reynolds Wrap product line. This particular location has over 450
employees. I hired in as a production supervisor in March of 2003 and was
promoted to Production Manger in June of 2006. I presently manage and
direct eight production supervisors and over 100 hourly employees. Since
2003 we have increased productivity over 36% by implementing Lean
initiatives. Present responsibilities include establishing of Lean
Manufacturing initiatives, establishing standardized work procedures for
training purposes and developing management and leadership skills of
present supervisory team.
AmeriSource Bergen Corporation (Louisville, KY) 2002 -
2003
Project Manager
AmeriSource Bergen is the number one pharmaceutical distributor in the
world. This particular location absorbed a 70% increase in business through
a recent acquisition and has been struggling to effectively handle this
workload. I was hired by AmeriSource Bergen to establish systems and
procedures, allowing them to effectively handle their new influx of
business. I worked as both a project manager and a warehouse supervisor
establishing new training procedures, quality and productivity tracking
procedures and other systems developed to measure, manage and improve the
overall production process. In my time with AmeriSource we increased
overall production by 18% and reduced incorrect orders by more than 20%.
Prior to joining the company, I worked as an independent contractor in a
variety of areas, including real estate sales and insurance, while focusing
on finding an operations management / supervisory position where I could
benefit an organization with my management knowledge and experience.

Steel Technologies is an intermediate steel processor with 16 locations
throughout the United States and Mexico. I worked for them in many
capacities in numerous facilities over the last 14 + years. Below is a
breakdown of those positions and responsibilities.

General Manager (Ghent, KY) 1999 - 2001
The Ghent operation is Steel Technologies' pickling division. In addition
to its pickling capabilities it also supplies slitting, inspecting and
warehousing services for flat rolled users in the area. I transferred to
Ghent from Steel Technologies' Portage operation to turn around poor
performing operation. This was Steel Technologies' first attempt at
pickling and it had been under performing in its first four years of
existence. We have successfully turned this operation around by creating
new management team and creating a quality oriented culture that did not
exist previously.
. Responsible for the development of the management team (Plant Manager,
Customer Service Manager, Maintenance Manager, Traffic Manager, and
Quality Manager).
. Lowered conversion costs by over $1 million in the first year by cutting
back work force by over 40 employees while increasing overall quality and
productivity. Handled the purchasing of all plant supplies and
renegotiated with all suppliers in order to get our costs under control.
. Created team atmosphere within facility by being responsive to employee
concerns and involving all of our employees in the decision making
process as we made changes and created our standard operating procedures.

. Created inventory control procedures to increase production flow and
overall organization of shipping and receiving department.
. Increased ROA by over 80% in first two years managing facility. Lowered
rejects from 1.2% to less than .6%.
General Manager (Portage, IN) 1994 -
1999
The Portage facility is an intermediate steel processor offering slitting,
annealing, cold rolling and edging of flat rolled material for steel users
in the area.
. Responsible for developing production / capacity planning schedules to
meet JIT expectations of a customer base of over 200 and annual sales of
over $100 million.
. Successfully decertified 160 member United Steel Workers Union by
effectively communicating with the workforce and creating self starting
teams and team leaders in the workplace.
. Coordinated the startup of 100,000 square foot addition and two new
slitting lines from startup to completion.
. Responsible for the training and development of all new management
personnel within facility.
. Worked closely with inside sales and technical service to insure that our
customer's requirements were being exceeded. Responsible for overall
customer satisfaction and worked very closely with customers to insure
their requirements were being met.
. Coordinated the successful completion of the QS9000 quality standard
registration in the facility.
. Responsible for implementing all safety procedures and insuring we met
all OSHA standards.
. Handled all HR responsibilities for facility due to no on site HR person.
Oversaw all payroll activity as well as handled all hiring
responsibilities.
Plant Manager (Murfreesboro, TN)
1987 - 1994
This was a joint venture between Steel Technologies, Inc of Louisville, KY
and Mitsui Company of Japan. The operation was set up to offer slitting,
warehousing and inspecting of flat-rolled steel for the Nissan facility in
nearby Smyrna, TN as well as other Japanese transplant business coming to
the area.

. Assisted in the startup of new $6 million 60,000 square foot facility.
. Responsible for training of all new manufacturing personnel by
establishing training packets for each position and making sure that all
personnel were effectively trained and signed off on each area of their
position.
. Coordinated the startup of two (2) new slitting lines and additional
140,000 square feet of processing and storage space.
. Responsible for the training of all incoming production foreman and
directing their day to day activities.
. Responsible for instilling philosophy of continuous improvement regarding
quality, service and production throughout the operation.

flow of the facility.
