University,
. Assisted in CNC programming for undergraduate students
. Created manuals for Pro/E Wildfire 5.0/CREO lab exercises and
assignments,
. Assisted in Pro Manufacturing (Pro/NC) and Rapid Prototyping,
. Provided laboratory assistance to undergraduate students,
. Helped creating models involving Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
(GD&T)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Internship at Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), Mumbai, India
June '09-May '10
Worked on the project titled: Analysis of Inlet Header for 18MW Beam Dump
for 500gev Electron/Positron Beam of International Linear Collider
. Studied the vorticity of Fluid flow inside a 10m cylindrical pipe,
modeling the pipe and analyzing the fluid flow using CFD
techniques.
. Modeling was done using GAMBIT 2.4 and ANSYS FLUENT 6.3.26 was used
for analysis of the flow.
. The design model was optimized for efficient heat removal from the
collider.
RESEARCH PROJECT
Ballistic Impact Response of Composite Plates using ABAQUS
July '12- July '13
. Studying the ballistic behavior of different composite systems,
. Traction separation properties of the cohesive element used were
computed using Peel tests and Double Cantilever Beam tests,
. Finite Element model of the composite plate surrounded by epoxy
resin has been modeled and the interface stresses and strains were
computed,
. Determining the ballistic limit velocities at the corresponding t/d
ratios for the different composite systems.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Advanced CAD (Pro-E Wildfire 4.0/Pro-Mechanica):
May '12 - Aug '12
. Designing of intricate assemblies involving connection rod,
crankshaft and other complex geometries.
. Creating models involving Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
(GD&T)
. Static and dynamic analysis for 3D and 2D (plan stress, plane
strain and beam models) models using Pro-Mechanica.
. Thermal analysis of models and Optimization techniques used for
geometries.
. Basic level experience in machining models using NC simulations.
. Creating and maintaining BOM.
Intermediate Heat Transfer:
. Design of parallel flow, counter flow and mixed flow heat exchanger
network to achieve a desired output.
. Heat capacities of fluids were split to meet the given
requirements.
. MS Excel was made use of to calculate the efficiency of the heat
exchanger network.
. The potential for entropy generation due to mixing was minimized.
The area of the heat exchanger was minimized and the efficiency was
maximized for the heat exchanger design.
