Vice President of Engineering, 2010-present

In addition to the Engineering Manager responsibilities below, I am responsible for

developing and maintaining the internal and contracted resource capacity to deliver

complete engineering designs and specifications for multiple product lines including

nuclear high level waste, electrical transmission and distribution systems and

telecommunications facilities. This involves the oversight of a team of engineers from

multiple disciplines including civil, structural, electrical, mechanical and nuclear. Also

responsible for engineering personnel training, development and qualification, internal

procedure and process development, procurement for external resources, materials and

construction, and quality assurance.

Principal Engineer/Engineering Manager, 2009-2010

Provide civil and structural engineering support to multiple divisions and business units,

as mentioned above. Coordinate with architects and other external professionals to

provide the comprehensive designs required for the client. Manage all engineering,

procurement and construction (EPC) projects from design through implementation.

Project Manager, 2004-2009

Project Manager for civil engineering consulting firm. Managed and maintained multiple

commercial, industrial, municipal and institutional site development projects.

Coordinated with architects and contractors. Worked alongside clients to obtain zoning

and permitting, including Corps of Engineers permits as well as State of Alabama

Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) permits. Provided conceptual

designs to the clients to ensure the desired product was received, while adhering to the

established budget as well as all applicable engineering standards and building codes.

Provided specifications and bid documents to clients as well as managed the overall

procurement process for multiple projects. Responsible for staff management, project

management, internal procedures and processes, CAD system administration and quality

assurance.

• Church of the Highlands, Birmingham, Alabama. A 120 acre church campus

development. I was responsible for all zoning, environmental permitting,

earthwork and drainage design, roadway improvements, utility extensions, site

acquisition. Coordinated with the architect and site contractor to ensure the client

received the desired product.

• Multiple Publix sites. Responsible for site acquisition, zoning, permitting, site

drainage designs, roadway improvements and utility extensions.

• Colonial Promenade Fultondale. 60 acre shopping center development.

Field Project Manager, 2003-2004

Project Manager for nationally recognized medical, research and academic institution.

Managed multiple capital improvement projects from pre-bid phase through construction

and close-out. Supervised architects, engineers and other consultants during construction

administration phase of projects. Supervised contractors to ensure compliance with plans

and specifications. Maintained schedule and cost tracking during design and

construction.

• Research Support Building. 5-story research facility with specialized security,

HVAC and electrical systems. Coordinated with the architect and assisted with

Project Engineer / Manager for local operating division of America’s largest aggregate

producer. Provided civil and structural engineering support for several production

facilities in the Southeast. Designed and implemented additions and renovations to

existing plants as well as construction of new plants.

• Calera Quarry. $20 million new plant. Responsible for civil and structural design.
