Project details:

I have done my MSc project on cost analysis which was COST MANAGEMENT FOR

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT. In this project I was given a task to calculate the

cost of manufacturing air conditioner using different techniques and

compare the difference in the cost.

I used activity based costing (ABC) and traditional costing to find out the

cost of manufacturing a air conditioner. I concluded that activity based

costing is the best technique to determine the cost of the product.

Work experience:

Worked as an assistant for professor in JNTU in development of friction

stir welding from July 2008 - January 2009.(Hyderabad, India)

Worked as Maintenance Engineer in Metal Craft Engineers on performing and

witnessing NDT on various welds and surveillance of welding parameters from

September 2009 - August 2012(London, U.K).

Working as a QC engineer in Alpha NDT on Conduct various inspections,

testing to ensure designed products are in compliance with pre-set

technical qualifications from October 2012- Till date (Hyderabad, India).

Job responsibilities:

Carry out the visual inspection before, during and after welding.

Monitoring the pre heat temperature before welding and inter pass

temperature during welding.

Conducting in process examination of the joint fit up, cleanliness and

variables specified by the joining procedure including filler metal and

inter pass cleaning.

Storage of electrodes as per the manufacturing specification.

Preparation of inspection request and maintain the inspection reports.

Monitor the weld repair activity from marking the defect, grinding and

welding as per the weld repair procedure.

Identify the problems, pose possible solutions and implement those

solutions to achieve objectives.

Preparing an Inspection report for Existing Pipeline & Equipment Shell

using UT thickness Survey.

Preparation, review of NDT procedure and interpretation of weld

discontinuities by various NDT procedures like UT, PT, MT. visual

examination as per code requirement.

Inspection of welding consumables like electrodes, filler wire, flux,

shielding gas as per the specification.

Mechanical clearance for hydro testing.

Offering inspection to client witness point as per Quality assurance plan.

Checking weld machine setup and the welding techniques of welders on work

in progress to ensure the quality of the work.

Preparation of weld history, repair rate and documenting the results.

Checking welders and operator qualification and witnessing welder

qualification test

Using magnification to find defects that potential weaken the strength

of the joint.

Observe, identify and perhaps record the features of the weld and

decide whether the weld is acceptable in terms of the levels that are

permitted.

Preparation of QC Dossiers and submitting to client for verification.

Providing assistance to safety talks, auditing personnel to audit the QC
