PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I have over 28 years experience supporting CNC machinery. This
machinery primarily includes, but not limited to, multi-axis machining
centers and multi-axis lathes. During this time, my machining skills have
provided the ability of optimizing diverse component parts. I have been
able to reduce lead times through processing and/or programming of these
parts. Application of modern cutting tool technology and geometric
inspection methods has enabled me to remain up front in the manufacturing
arena. This knowledge has also benefited me in providing leadership in a
team-oriented environment. In addition to my skills and knowledge, I have
been instructed in modern manufacturing philosophies from various
consulting firms. Utilization of CAD/CAM and windows software has proven
beneficial throughout my manufacturing career.
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
EATON AEROSPACE DIVISION, N. Jun 1999 to Present
Charleston, SC
Manufacturing Engineer. I am primarily responsible for engineering
duties in the Complex Milling cell. These duties include processing,
programming, tooling, fixturing and inspection. Standardization and
elimination of special tooling was achieved using stock standard
insert tooling. Training of operators in machining/inspection
practices and tool usage was required. I performed value stream
mapping on bottleneck parts. Investigated non-conformances to
determine root causes and initiate corrective action to prevent
recurrence. I was called upon to assist in other cells throughout the
facility. All work was preformed under MIL standards.
MAYER INDUSTRIES INC., Orangeburg, Dec 1995 to May 1999
SC
CNC Programmer/Trainer. Responsibilities include part processing,
programming and fixturing using Catia CAD/CAM system. Developed and
implemented macro programming. Installation and start-up of DMG 5 axis
machining centers and Makino high speed machining centers. Specified
and implemented microchip tool communication system. Coordinated
Zoller tool management system and presetter. Supported and
troubleshoot probing systems on various CNC machines. Developed and
wrote ISO 9000 element 18 (Training) procedure for certification and
preformed various training. Inner-acted with local education systems
such as Math and Science Hub, Orangeburg-Wilkerson High School and
Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College. All work was preformed under DIN
and ISO standards.
DYNAPOWER/STRATOPOWER, N. Feb 1995 to Nov 1995
Charleston, SC
Manufacturing Engineer. Responsibilities included process and program
for CNC machine tools, cutting tool standardization and training of
operators. I specified and implemented alternatives in machining
bottlenecks, such as combining manual operations into CNC operations,
developed new fixturing concepts to realize reductions in set-up time
and repeatability in machining. Investigated non-conformances to
determine root causes and initiate corrective action to prevent
recurrence. All work was preformed under MIL-Q-9858 quality system.
FIGGIE INTERNATIONAL, Willoughby, 1989 to 1995
OH
Snorkel/Economy (Division of Figgie), St. Joseph, MO Dec 1993 to Jan
1995
CNC Programmer. I set-up and established a machining cell which
included a 5 axis CNC machining center, multi-axis CNC turning centers
with milling capabilities and several manual machines.
Responsibilities included processing, fixturing, programming, set-up,
and supervision of cell operation. Utilized Anvil 5000 CAD system,
Virtual Gibbs programming system, KANBAN queue system and electronic
job reporting.
Figgie Manufacturing Center (Division of Figgie), Charleston, SC Mar
1991 to Nov 1993
Lead Operator. Responsible for a manufacturing cell, which included
processing, programming, set-up, and cell operation. The cell
consisted of 3 multi-axis CNC machining centers and 2 multi-axis CNC
lathes.
G.J. Meyer Manufacturing (Division of Figgie), Swainsboro, GA Aug 1989
to Mar 1991
Set-up Operator. Program, set-up, and operate 3,4 and 5 axis CNC
machining centers and 3 axis CNC lathes.
