DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Nursing patients

Assisting the physical and psychological needs of the patients

Rendering direct nursing care

Monitoring vital signs and fluid balance.

Drug calculation and administration

Assisting for blood culture, ABG, Bone marrow aspiration, lumbar puncture, pleural & ascetic tap

and renal biopsy.

Pre and post op care.

Starting intravenous line, inserting NG tube,urinary catheterization, giving enema, nebulizing and

other procedures.

Oxygen administration and nebulization.

Chest physiotherapy, steam inhalation, hot and cold application and positioning the patient.

Assisting procedures like endotracheal intubations, central venous line insertion, blood

transfusion and male catheterization.

Resuscitating during cardiac and respiratory arrest.

Dealing clients with diet therapy and follow up care.

Supervising 4th class workers.

Maintaining the census

Knowledge in assessing patient needs and delivers high quality patient care as per nursing care

plan.
