EDUCATIONAL Project IN DOEACC FOR "a" lEVEL

PROJECT: Orphanage Management System

Environment: VB.net 2005, SQL Server 2003, Microsoft Word 2003

This is the educational project for A level.

ROLE: I have done a software based on VB. Net & SQL Server which helps

. all the Orphanage homes to keep their all information in a database

& provide information of their institution as needed. This

software is very easy to understand & easy to handle.

PROJECT: Marquis Who's Who

It is an US based Company which publish their books, where

biographies of famous personalities, allover the world are published.

. ROLE: As an editor I have done this project. It is basically an

editing work where I have to edit biographies of various famous

personalities according to the rules of Marquis.

. There are 3 kinds of works-new entries of biogs, editing their

biographies and updating.

. There are also another project called BRS

. Trad is also one kind of biography entry which is based on mainly data

entry from the database

PROJECT: Indexing

The project is a pre-press project. Before publishing books indexing has to

be done. But it should be done properly. Rules are there to do this job;

otherwise it is of no use.

Proper indexing helps reader to read and find any word easily.

ROLE: Indexer

I am involved in

. Understanding any rules of Indexing and project it in the application

properly.

. After reading the books indexing is done.

. Correcting the improper indexing of books.

PROJECT: Proof Reading

ROLE: Proof Reader

The project involved of proofing of newspapers, books.

I was involved in

. Proofing of newspapers, columns of newspapers.

. OCRing of books using Fine Reader, Spell Check and proofing of books.

ROLE: Data entry cum proofing.

The project is about entering title of the books, it's authors' names, page

numbers and dates in an application and proofing the matters whether it is

appropriately placed or not.

Matters also should be properly styled

After doing all the above works the application should be downloaded in

Excel.

ROLE: Copy Editor

Copy Editors are responsible for making a manuscript clear, concise,

correct, comprehensive, and consistent at all levels of copy editing,

light, medium or heavy. We are competent in both US and UK English and can

handle all types of books, journals, and research papers. We offer our

services in the domain of STMS (scientific-technical-medical-scholarly) and

non-STM publishing.

The project is about selection of the pages differently with different

heads of a whole book with the help of 4nt software.

Three files---acc file, error file and a toc file is zipped and then

processed
